Makita LCT203W 2-Tool Cordless Drill Driver Combo Kit

Makita’s LCT203W 10.8V compact cordless tool kit includes 1/4″ drill/driver with 2 speed settings and 18 clutch settings, and a 1/4″ compact impact driver. The kit comes with 2 batteries, a charger, and a stylish carry case.

The combo is currently priced at $160, with an average price of ~$180. These aren’t the smallest, most powerful, or fastest 10.8/12V drill/drivers on the market, but they come pretty darned close at a decent price.

The attache case gives them a bit of spy feel. Also that they are about the size of 007’s PP7 doesn’t hurt either.

^Ha! Ha! That’s a win win there, Jeff! Maybe this set will attract female spies.

Got mine for Christmas. They were bouncing between $140 and $153 on Amazon. Love ’em. Charge fast and they’re small and light. Wanted a chuck but missed the deals on the RIDGID. Besides, my hands are too small for the RIDGID. Be careful what you load in them, though. Today I got a hex drive spade bit stuck in my driver. I was momentarily crushed as I recalled reading of similar situations which weren’t covered by the manufacturer. I think the spade bit was just a tad undersized and twisted in the socket. I tried forward and reverse several times, hoping to achieve the magic undo. Nothing. I successfully clamped the spade bit in my vise and yanked it free. The case is nice but all your stuff will tumble if you store it other than flat. Makita makes a nice quarter inch chuck that works great with the DRIVER. I thought it was weird at first (“cause I assumed it should be used with the drill). Instead, it’s designed to work with the hammering action of the driver.

I bought these earlier this year via Amazon. I bought the “used” ie open box version and LOVE them. I find I reach for these more often then I do the 18v tools. They work great, are light and easy to use. The case is cool, but it also can be a hassle to find a spot to store. The benefit to the case though is if you pick up the Makita impact driver/drill bit kit that goes along with this it fits right inside the case.
