I recently watched a Deadpool & Wolverine movie trailer and ad mashup, featuring Heinz ketchup and mustard. From that point on, I couldn’t unsee the movie poster as drawing parallels to the competitive rivalry between Dewalt and Milwaukee Tool .
Is it just me, or do you see it too?
Yellow… red…

Understandably, given the R-rating, there were no tool-related product placements.
Anyway, the movie was AMAZING. I was a kid in the ’90s who looked forward to Saturday morning X-Men cartoons, so maybe I’m not the best person to ask.
This might be the first movie ever that I’ll watch twice while it’s still in theaters.
I won’t say any more than that.
Here’s the Deadpool & Wolverine and Heinz trailer:

The red/yellow theming is pretty superb, and now I can’t unsee the Dewalt/Milwaukee thing. Thanks , Stuart. The only ones who use these two primary colors in conjunction better are Hulk Hogan and Wooze.

KC Chiefs
Robert
Don’t you mean 49ers? (ignoring results on the field) Chiefs’ have red and white colors, not red and yellow.
Brad
??? Chiefs’ colors are red and yellow with white accents. Their away jerseys are primarily white, but that’s standard in the NFL. 49ers are gold and some kind of red.
Robert
I’m going by their uniforms. Looking at the photos on the Chief’s official web page, I see their uniforms are red and white, with a little bit of yellow as trim/accent. White & Red predominate. Granted, the 49ers are gold yellow, but not too far off from Dewalt’s.
Cody
That’s like saying the Vikings are purple and white not purple and gold.
Lance
Maybe Green Lantern (Makita) can join in for the sequel? 🙂

Imagine if they announced that they were going to use the same battery system so you could pick any tool from either range.

Come on now. This is the movies, it must have at least a little sense of being possible in reality. Lol

I was disappointed when Jackman announced that Logan was to be the end of his portrayal of Wolverine, so even though Logan was a great swan song, this is welcome news.

The tool color selections (even color trademarking) were a natural extension of Marketing 101. Brilliant, that we can recognize major brands almost immediately as we walk onto a jobsite. At one time Skil and Porter-Cable were duking it out with shades of grey and polished aluminum. Since plastic came in for tool housings, now it is Fire Engine Red, Bright Yellow etc. I guess Dewalt’s and Ryobi’s choice of colors may have an edge when it comes to night vision – but at 9 in the morning you can surely distinguish between the main colors that the major brands selected.

I am so out of the loop.

Deadpool & Wolverine is a movie that just came out.
Disney/Marvel ran a Deadpool & Wolverine trailer and ad mashup featuring Heinz ketchup and mustard as a play on the yellow and red colors of the characters’ costumes.
Yellow and red colors are frequently used as representing Dewalt and Milwaukee, such as “team yellow, or “team red.”
Deadpool & Wolverine makes a small jump to red and yellow, which directly connects to Milwaukee and Dewalt.

Probably the last Deadpool movie too. I’ve liked all so far but as usual 2 was weaker. Not much but a little

And to complicate this thread even further Deadpool himself (from Vancouver, BC) bought into Aviation American Gin, a startup distillery, a few blocks from one of my studio buildings in Post Portlandia.
Plus Ryan (Deadpool) Reynolds is generally known as a heckuva nice fellow in person.
Small world indeed.
