Amazon’s Deal of the Day is the Gerber Crucial multi-tool. Today-only, unless supplies run out sooner, the Crucial is priced at $25 even, down from the regular price of $31.
The Crucial features a partially serrated knife blade, pliers with wire cutters, Phillips and slotted screwdrivers, a bottle opener, pocket clip, and carabiner clip.

According to Gerber, the Crucial functions like a multitool, carries like a pocket knife. That said, we would agree that it looks quite a bit slimmer than regular multi-tools. Our favorite slim multi-tool is the Leatherman Skeletool, which is currently priced quite a bit higher than the Crucial.

We wouldn’t agree the that the Crucial gives you a workshop of tools in your pocket – there’s no file, package opener, saw, can opener, wire stripper, ruler, strap cutter, or screwdriver bit holder. Even so, this isn’t a bad-looking design for someone looking to spend less than $30 on a small multi-tool.

See, I don’t get these “one day sales”. The day isn’t even over (here at least on the west coast it’s 10:25pm – Amazon is located in Seattle on the west coast), they are not out of stock and yet the price is back to normal. But, I guess Amazon is not the seller.

I’ve had it on my wishlist for a while now. I missed the one day sale, but I just noticed it’s $22.40 right now and qualifies for free shipping if you spend $25 on eligible items.
I bought one. I hope I like it!

Thanks for the notice! If you remember to, I’d love to hear what you think of it.

Well I’ve had it for a while now and I love it! It’s very convenient that you can access everything but the pliers (obviously) while it’s closed. The knife opening and closing action is very smooth.
The small size is great. I don’t like carrying anything bulky in my pockets so this is perfect. The features are perfect for me (this is largely personal choice) and everything feels high-quality.

Are these made in the US? I’m thinking to get these or the Leatherman Blast or Supertool.
THanks
Stuart
Unfortunately, I don’t think they are USA-made.
