Delta’s 22-590 “portable” planer has been out for almost a year or so now, and the guys over at Tools in Action put together a pretty detailed review of it. They seem pretty pleased with the quality of the machine, calling it things like “sturdy”, “awesome”, and “bad-ass.”

Believe when i say this is an awesome planer. I have build several built in closet organizers from scratch. I use my Delta planer to bring down the thickness of the drawers. I dont have a specialty wood supply shop near me, so i grab some 3/4 poplar from the local DIY home store and plane it down to 1/2″…makes the perfect thickness for the drawers. I still have the stupid snipe issues though, i just cut it longer than needed. plane it down to required thickness and finish off with the proper length cuts on the saw.
