We spotted some new Dewalt Atomic cordless power tool bundles over at Acme Tools.
Basically, there are new Tstak bundles, where for $15 more you get the regular Atomic tool kit, but with a Dewalt Tstak tool box instead of the typical tool bag.

These aren’t earth-shattering deals, but I know some of you might appreciate this, or at least the spirit of the deal. A lot of people ask “why can’t I buy that Dewalt cordless power tool kit with a Tstak tool box?” Well with these, you can.

Tstak tool boxes typically sell for around $20, so you’re saving a couple of dollars on these deals compared to buying the tool boxes separately.
One thing to note is that the impact driver kit and Tstak bundle only comes with one battery. Acme Tools had the incorrect image, then they fixed it, but now the incorrect image is back. The C1 kit only comes with (1) 20V Max Li-ion battery pack.
The combo kit is also available with a Tstak bundle.

It’s uncertain as to whether you get any fancy inserts within the tool boxes, or if it’s a plain Jane empty container.
Price: $115 for the drill or impact driver bundles, $195 for the combo kit
If you don’t care about getting your hands on a Tstak tool box, the regular kits are $99 for the individual tool kits, and $179 for the combo kit.

If the box doesn’t come with inserts, it’s worth getting them IMO. I got the tstak foam inserts for my versastack box for my Craftsman brushless drill & driver. They fit just perfect but I’d imagine the Atomic stuff would be even better being smaller. I love these boxes! All of them.

i bet you did not see the tstak dt70716 yet ?

Yeah, if this comes with an insert then that’s another $10 saved.
I might be a customer for this drill for my work or this case for personal but I’m TTI and tstak and work is DeWalt and tough system so this won’t be in my shipping list for either
John
I know this is slightly off topic, but I find it incredibly frustrating that the discount tools are the ones that get shipped in the good cases (track saw aside). Just let me store my tools in stacking cases with out extra work!

The Atomic series of tools are anemic and the T-Stak is a weak poke at Systainer storage. I love Makita but the Milwaukee 12v system is worth the extra cost vs the Atomic tools and some Milwaukee 12v sets include storage boxes from Milwaukee.

Your comment pains me. Anything would be considered anemic for something it’s not designed for, or intended to do. My wife’s car is an anemic trailer hauler. What dewalt and Makita understand, is that the point of 12v/subcompact tools is comfort and ease of use for less demanding tasks, not to pretend to be 18v tools. Two biggest problems with Milwaukee 12v’s; worst ergonomics, and focusing on spec war instead of why people want smaller tools. Get the battery out from inside the grip, then you can actually put something towards ergonomics. I’ve got xl hands, and m12s feel like holding a cucumber. Grab a Makita or dewalt 12v, then an m12, look me in the eye and tell me Milwaukee is more comfortable, with a straight face. And why are they all so damn heavy? Milwaukee’s tools are always noticably heavier than anyone else’s match tools. Probably from whatever hardware they put in to keep pretending it’s a replacement for 18v. It’s not what a sane professional wants a 12v tool for, and even if they make the highest spec 12v tool, it’s still a weak competitor for 18v. Further to that battery point- atomic and Makita subs gives a user 12v/subcompact tools without having to pickup a new battery platform. Milwaukee likes to pretend that’s important to them, given all the half-truth bs mudslinging about flexvolt lol guess they’re only against it unless they want their customers to buy a whole new battery platform for a WEAKER set of tools…In either case, super small 18v tools are clearly the better option if they keep to their claimed interests.
And the systainer comment… I’m positive that both tstak, and tough system, not to mention packout, already dwarf systainer popularity in the field, and I’m seeing mostly tstak and it’s recolored rebrandings taking over more than a few shops. So how tstak is a “weak poke” at a system that’s been surpassed by multiple modular storage offerings, from multiple manufacturers?

Corey Moore I am with you. With the atomic series (and the Makita sub-compact) you can stay in one battery platform and still have smaller tools. You don’t always need the biggest drill on earth, most of the time a smaller one will do just fine. I don’t understand why somebody buys into M12, yes it is a big platform, but they are absolutely horrible in terms of ergonomics. M12 drills feel like cheap no-name chinese drills because of the fat handle. I am not saying that M12 are bad tools, they just feel horrible. Bosch 12V are no better as they also have that stupid battery style. I also like the tstak more than Tanos (systainer), especially the ones used by Makita are pretty awful. I do not like that with the systainer you only have one handle on the top, as I prefer the front handle on the tstak.

Buying the tools separately is a better deal. For 195 (box) or 179 (bag), you get two tools a charger and two batteries. For 230 (box) or 200 (bag), you get two tools, two chargers and three batteries.

You get more for more money, and the value of the deal gets better, but that’s often the case. A 5 tool cordless combo kit is often a better value than a 4-tool combo kit, which is a better value than a 3-tool combo, and so forth. The price-per-tool is sometimes less for a higher-count hand tool set than a smaller set.
If you’re willing to spend $230, I’d say spend a little more even and get the DCK283D2 cordless combo kit (Amazon), which I’ve purchased at $259 before. You don’t get the tool boxes or another charger, but you get better tools and batteries. There’s also a 20V Max 4-tool combo kit for $229.
