That’s not the most nut-busting torque we’ve seen, but it’s still a lot. Milwaukee’s heavy duty M18 Fuel impact wrench delivers up to 750 ft-lbs of peak fastening torque, and up to 1,200 ft-lbs of nut-busting torque, and the IR W7150 mentioned in our which cordless impact wrench for lug nut removal post delivers up to 780 ft-lbs of max reverse torque and 1100 ft-lbs of nut-busting torque.

Everything about the new impact looks pretty darned good, from the efficient brushless motor, to the compact size. No, the DCF899 isn’t as powerful as other brands’ leading models, but it might have an edge in terms of compactness. Plus, it’s a tool you could use with any Dewalt 20V Max Li-ion battery packs you might already have.
The impact wrench isn’t quite as powerful as the Dewalt-compatible Mac Tools model, and at 3.17 kg (~7 lbs), it’s a little heavier too. But compared to a brushed motor tool, the brushless Dewalt impact will likely last a lot longer on a single battery charge.
If you’re in the market for a new impact and already bought into Dewalt’s 20V Max Li-ion lineup – or are thinking of doing so – you might want to wait for this model to hit the market.
Right now it hasn’t been officially announced yet, and we know nothing other than what you see above, which was taken from a Taiwan Dewalt and Stanley catalog.

Variable speed trigger looks like, that’s a plus. The rocker switches are not great.
Wonder how it will compare in price to the Bosch high torque, the IR, the Milwaukee Fuel and the CP (that isn’t out yet it seems).

Simple … during the initial product launch, the supply could easily meet demand for overseas because the volume hasn’t ramp up yet. Once it releases in US, due to its huge market, the supply side would have caught up to support demand.

18V vs 20V;
Look at the amps applied to battery life in the new M2 series of 20V cordless tool batteries. longer run time 2000 chrges instead of 700 for 18V, brushless magnets= less tool ware…
So what don’t you understand?
18V are on their way out of the market.

*****I just got one in at the store and I have to say that I am impressed. The tool feels well built and has a 3-speed vs. Milwawukee’s 2-speed. The 5 amp hour batteries are a big bonus too. The tool also has the softstart technology so at first it sounds less impressive than the Milwaukee but the application is obviously much better. I hope to hear some customer feedback soon!
