I would probably move the guard around a bit more with this feature. I use the current latch lock frequently and its working fine for me. But I see guys that don’t ever think to adjust it, probably hold outs from the old clamp screw days, so this will help those guys.

Also like the hex wrench-ability of the spindle nut….just in case the spanner wrench gets lost……good idea.

BUT…….I dont need to rock out with heavy metal on every tool promotional video. Yeah, we work with tools, we’re tough and aggressive kind of guy’s guys. We drink and watch nascar, we work hard and play harder…………..whatever, I’m late for my rock climbing montage.

I hate That GD music on all these videos too.
Either that or it’s the blue grass B/S on woodworking videos.
And it’s always do GD loud.

I like the idea of an easy to adjust guard. An angle grinder is on my short list of tools to buy. I’ll probably give this one a look when I finally get around to buying one.

I am unable to remove the silver guard at all! In some of the videos I see a possibly spring loaded mechanism to release it. However, my tool has the base and the guard with arrows to line up. I am close to returning it for a new one!

I need to install a Diamabrush with vacuum hose attachment to strip the floor of my huge deck.

Is there an adjustment screw on the latch? I don’t have this exact model but it looks like mine has a similar guard. The first few times I opened the latch, loosened the screw and then pulled it off. After that it got easier.

A huge deck will take some time with a 5″ grinder!

You’re not wrong about that Franck B., you have to be a masochist to want to strip a huge deck with a 15″ grinder!

I’d spend the $50 and rent a floor sander.
