Dewalt Cordless Fan

Dewalt’s cordless fan (DCE511B) is a quiet and convenient model, with 20V Max and AC power options, a variable speed dial, and several ways to mount it.

It’s currently on sale for $79. It’s NOT eligible for the Dewalt holiday $25 off $100+ discount – I checked – but $79 is a good price on a cordless fan that normally retails for $99.

I don’t think $79 is the new price, I am more convinced that this is a temporary price drop. Perhaps it’s a special sale price to help make up for $25 off $100+ ineligibility? Sometimes products with very high demand or slim margins are price-fixed during these seasonal coupon events.

I’ve like the ryobi cordless hybrid fan, just curious if this is worth double?

Hard to say. Probably more durable?

I’ll have to do a side by side test sometime. But I can say that the Dewalt is small, it’s quiet, and it’s simply a good fan.

If you do end up doing a fan test, maybe add the Milwaukee into the mix. I had the Ryobi and loved it. Then decided to try the Milwaukee as it is my majority battery platform, but was put off by a ‘whining’ noise, as best I can describe. I also wasn’t crazy about a wall-wart plug for the AC portion. So I returned that, and stuck with the Ryobi. I’m sort of hoping the noise was maybe just me, and I find a good deal on one again. I would like to have a more ‘robust’ housing for a portable fan.

We had some of Makita’s hybrid that seemed to move quite a bit of air:

The Makita is eligible for their $25 off

We also had some corded Ridgid and Xpower air movers and fans that were certainly better ( more costly too) for drying out floors and similar work.

I was very disappointed by Makita’s previous gen fan, it didn’t move as much air and was fairly noisy: https://www.amazon.com/Makita-BCF201Z-18-Volt-Lithium-Ion-Cordless/dp/B007TN5F1K/

Anyone know how the dewalt stacks up? I’m considering ryobi too – after the garage door opener i’ve been impressed with the stuff they come out with and their prices.

The fan was on sale last November, and increased in price sometime between then. It might go on sale again next Fall.
