Over at Home Depot, their special buy deal of the day features select Dewalt offerings.
The Dewalt FlexVolt DHS716AT2 12″ compound miter saw kit, with charger, (2) FlexVolt batteries, and AC adapter, is on sale for $399. Amazon is matching the price.

The bare tool is also on sale, for $279.
It’s actually less expensive than the similar corded-only Dewalt miter saw that has been on my shortlist for a miter saw station. I was going to wait to see if the DW716XPS would go on sale for the holidays, but with this, I’d get a 12″ miter saw with AC adapter, and the ability to swap the AC adapter for FlexVolt batteries if I needed to use it cordless in the future. Seems like the best of all worlds.

I should point out that this saw has been discontinued, at least according to a conversation I had with Dewalt. So that’s probably going to factor into my purchasing decision.

There’s also a Dewalt portable table saw and saw stand bundle, featuring the DWE7480 10″ compact jobsite saw, and DW7440RS stand.

Also… a [Sears] Craftsman Deal at Amazon
In a confusing move, today’s Amazon deal of the day features select Craftsman hand tools – select Sears Craftsman hand tools. None of these look to be new Stanley Black & Decker Craftsman designs.

Home Depot and Amazon deals of the day both end at 3am ET 9/13/2018, unless supplies sell out sooner.

Even though they carry some Craftsman on Amazon, I always figured they were 3rd party vendors because the prices (at least when I shopped) were always higher than purchasing directly from Sears!

CPO tools also sells it on Amazon. They are currently selling it for just under $398 and when I purchased it there was no taxes
Seth McMichael
They also sell on eBay, I waited until there was a 15% off on eBay to grab mine, but I got the slider. I love it!

Most of the Craftsman offering from Amazon don’t have very good ratings. The DeWalt offerings look nifty, if I was in the market for them, I’d take a second look at these.

I love the DeWalt “laser light” (actually is cast shadow of the blade) since it is 100% dead acurate. A friend has a Ridgid with actual lasers, was not impressed.
I have my eye on this cordless but is not in the budget right now.

I’m in the market for a table saw, and I’ve used and like the DEWALT ones. I’m leaning towards the newer Skil model (SPT99), though, because it has a similar rack & pinion fence system, and what seems to be a very good balance of power and portability.
Kyler
Do not get the Skilsaw table saw. I used one for a month or two and then it started falling apart. Blade height handle wore out, riving knife came bent, and a bunch of other stuff. Lots of people have bad blade wobble problems too. It’s a good saw but for the price, they messed up some design elements. It’s too bad because it was one powerful saw.

I bought a dewalt but if I was looking today I’d be hard pressed not to seriously consider the new hitachi model. It has all the features of the dewalt at a slightly cheaper price provided you are looking at the higher end dewalt offering. IE the 7490 or 7491. One big selling point for me due to shop space and moving things is the 7490 came to me with the X frame stand. It takes up alot less room and it hold very sturdy.

BTW. There’s a Milwaukee sale running on HomeDepot, offering a free 5Ah battery:

Now, what they don’t list as sale but available online is Milwaukee brushless grinder + 5 Ah battery for $149:

I think it is a pretty good deal. This is one is selling out quickly.
Nathan
mitre saw bundle looks good. I have to wait though but it looks good.
I don’t know I need a sliding 12 inch. I’d use a sliding 10 inch but honestly I don’t know I need all that depth. I don’t routinely cut 2 x 12’s let alone 2×10’s.
Chris
Is the saw itself any different between the dhs716at2 and dhs790ab?
Stuart
716 is a non-slider, 790 is a slider, giving it greater cutting capacity and a deeper footprint.
Chris
Ah!!! Awesome thank you. Yeah that does make a huge difference.
Cheers!

Did you end up picking up the DHS716 Miter Saw? Home Depot has dropped the price on the tool/ac adapter set down to $249. I ordered it because it is a lower price than any DW716 (corded version) I can find right now. I would probably buy the whole kit at $399 right now, but there isn’t much flexvolt stuff that interests me. It is a shame Dewalt didn’t position its self to go against Ego in a meaningful way with the 60V flexvolt platform. The only downside I see is that this that this version might be less reliable as it has pretty heavy duty ac/dc converter.
