Dewalt 8V Max Gyroscopic Cordless Screwdriver DCF680N2

The Dewalt 8V Max gyroscopic cordless screwdriver is a unique and fun tool for light fastening tasks.

It features a pivoting handle, which switches the screwdriver from right angle to inline mode for different tasks.

It also has an adjustable torque clutch, with makes it easier to drive screws in at repeatable depths.

Of course, there’s also the intuitive gyroscopic controls. Activate the tool and then twist it right to drive screws and to the left to loosen them.

Not only that, the speed is motion controlled as well. The faster you twist the Dewalt screwdriver in either direction, the faster it drives or removes fasteners. You’ll get used to the intuitive controls in no time.

Dewalt Gyroscopic Cordless Screwdriver Pivoting 2-Position Handle

Dewalt launched this tool with their 8V Max removable battery system quite a few years ago, but sadly low demand has limited the growth of the system to just a couple of other budget-friendly inline screwdrivers and a flashlight that doesn’t seem to exist anymore.

Still, even though there’s not really much more to the 8V Max cordless power tool system, it’s convenient to be able to swap batteries – this kit comes with (2).

This is a very underrated tool at a great price.

Sale Price: $79

    Very tempting

Question didn’t they make one of these that had a conduit reamer

Shame there isn’t more with the set. Not sure what you could do, smaller drill, camera, use the 8v for the 1/4 drive smaller ratchet. Or ?

Look at Milwaukee’s RedLithium USB line and Ryobi USB Lithium. There’s a lot that can be done. I think it’s a question of getting the sales volume high enough for the price to be affordable enough.

Do NOT buy the Ryobi USB version of this tool, even for $25. It’s terrible. Single speed, no clutch. The pivot mechanism is stiff. And it’s weak. When it stalls, you have to wait a few seconds until it will run again.

I have this DeWalt 8V and it’s an awesome tool. I have a lot of the Ryobi USB tools and for the most part they’re great. Just not this screwdriver.

I’ve used the Dewalt before – and still do on occasion – and it hasn’t given me much to complain about.

It’s been on my donation list for a while – I really need to cut down on how many tools I still keep around – but can’t bring myself to part with it yet.

I’ve been strongly considering getting another at the least for the fresh batteries.

I think the gyro feature is a matter of preference. I have the metabo (well, mine is hitachi) and dewalt gyro and almost always reach for the dewalt first.

I’ve had one for years and I love it. The low torque and sensitive clutch make it ideal for electrical work. It’s half of all the power tools in my grab-and-go toolbox (the other is an M12 Fuel impact driver); I would really miss it if I lost it, and would replace it in a moment. Top marks from me.

Ive had the Dewalt for 10 years now, and is still to this day my most used and favorite power tool I own between my DeWalt and Milwaukee gear! Hands down the best one out there……..the only thing that rivals it in use (and I probably use it more now), is my Milwaukee electric ratchet. Those were a game changer. But if you were on the fence about this, I would grab one. LOVE my Gyroscopic screwdriver!

I got the craftsman one when it was available, I like that form factor better. This is definitely great for small assembly/electrical work, since I can actually use a power tool on slotted screws (bigger ones always give me problems)
