Home Depot Dewalt Milwaukee Tool Deals of the Day 4-23-20 Milwaukee Installation Driver

Today only, Home Depot has launched a huge selection of Dewalt and Milwaukee cordless power tool deals, with accessory and hand tool deals also mixed in.

Some of the deals are on special bundles, others on kits and sets that rarely go on sale.

In this post we’re only going to describe some of the notable deals. You’ll have to visit the deal page for the full selection.

Above, not only do you save $30 off the regular price of Milwaukee’s M12 installation drill/driver, you get two free batteries. It looks like some other retailers are also bundling it with two free batteries, but at the regular price of $229 (compare via Tool Nut).

Deals end at 3am ET 4/24/20, unless they sell out sooner.

Home Depot Dewalt Milwaukee Tool Deals of the Day 4-23-20 Dewalt FlexVolt Drill and Saws Combo Kit

There’s a special Dewalt cordless power tool kit bundle, where you get the 20V Max 3-speed brushless hammer drill and brushless impact driver, paired with a FlexVolt battery and a compact battery, and then bonus circular and reciprocating saws. At $349 this is a better deal than a lot of Dewalt’s more value-oriented cordless power tool combo kits.

Home Depot Dewalt Milwaukee Tool Deals of the Day 4-23-20 FlexVolt Miter Saw Bundle

There’s also a notable bundle on the FlexVolt 12″ non-sliding miter saw stand, paired with a compact miter saw stand. The FlexVolt saw comes with an AC adapter, and you can pair it with (2) FlexVolt batteries to make it cordless.

Home Depot Dewalt Milwaukee Tool Deals of the Day 4-23-20 Milwaukee Hole Saw Set

There are a slew of power tool accessories and bundles on sale.

Home Depot Dewalt Milwaukee Tool Deals of the Day 4-23-20 Milwaukee Locking Pliers

And also hand tools such as this Milwaukee Torque Lock locking pliers set.

Home Depot Dewalt Milwaukee Tool Deals of the Day 4-23-20 ToughSystem Tool Box Bundle

This Dewalt ToughSystem tool box combo, with a rolling tool box, large tool box, and small tool box, plus a 9′ magntic-backed tape measure, is $110 with free shipping.

Home Depot Dewalt Milwaukee Tool Deals of the Day 4-23-20 Dewalt Lawn and Garden Tools Bundle

There’s even a Dewalt 20V Max cordless outdoor power tools bundle, featuring a string trimmer kit and cordless hedge trimmer for $249. The kit comes with a single 5Ah battery and a charger.

The selection is varied even beyond what is shown here, such as with deals on a Dewalt impact socket set, HEPA dust vacs, reciprocating saw blades, a Milwaukee jobsite backpack, a Milwaukee socket set bundle, spade bits, and insulated screwdrivers.

It’s worth a peek.

Acme tool is doing a deal today where if you buy the Milwaukee string trimmer you get one free attachment. I picked one up (sold my gas one last year) and get the edger to go with it.

Acme is running all sorts of really good promos right now. Yesterday I scored a set of the bolt biter sockets for removing bolts with stripped heads for 80% off. I placed my order and they showed up at lunch time today. I’ve started checking them every morning for stuff.

Despite Coronavirus shutdowns, I keep getting emails about sales like these.

One from Toolup offers $20 off site-wide – (ends 4/24) on $199 or more – if you subscribe to their email list – and use code ANYTHING

Eagle America is offering 15% off iGaging products – using code iGaging15 – that sale also extends though 4/24

Their not going to shut down ads or sales due to the corona virus.
In fact, they will continue to ramp up sales due to waning profits this quarter. Investors won’t be happy if they stop trying to get you to buy stuff.

Those Dewalt “Tough system” boxes are not worth it for the price. I bought several for cheaper than today’s deal and I wouldn’t buy them again. They are super brittle and chunks of them break off all the time. I don’t consider them capable of withstanding long term use in a work van/truck or on a job site. Ridgid makes a better and cheaper set. Milwaukee makes a better and more expensive set. In terms of value, these should be cheaper than the Ridgid set.
They still haven’t come out with their 2.0 set.
I wonder if they’re trying to get around the fact that they look to be copies of Milwaukee’s more successful design…

Were your purchases from the same batch? If so, perhaps their fragility results from a defect?

I’ve owned Dewalt ToughSystem tool boxes for quite a few years and they’ve held up well. I’m not usually as rough on them as the type of handling they’re designed to endure, but I also haven’t heard many complaints of boxes breaking on users over the years. When I conducted durability testing a few years ago, it took quite a lot to punch a hole in a box.

I’ll have to check later and see if that might be a factor.
I know that most negative reviews these days regarding the Dewalt boxes are due to pieces breaking off.
The handles seem to be of poor design, I avoid using them as much as I can. All the weight and pressure are focused right at the hinge and compounded by the fact that the handle is being used as a lever to apply even more pressure to the hinge since they put stops at ~90 degrees. It’s just a poor design at this point compared to competitors.

I actually like dewalt for the price, (would definitely buy the packout if they were similarly priced) but yup those handles are are a serious design flaw in any but the small toolboxes.
As you get to taller boxes if you lift a box by the side handles they cantilever the force straight to the thin sidewalls of the box which have no reinforcement, causing the wall to bend out under bending moment which they aren’t built to withstand. And that is how I cracked the sidewall of my rolling box by lifting it by the side handles.

Which they fixed in 2.0 by removing the flipout handles and putting a little stationary ledge handhold, which is how I lift my big boxes now anyways, using the handle hinge as the handle.

And they also inset a strip in the middle of the box wall thereby greatly increasing the sidewall’s moment of inertia and its resistance to bending

I agree with the comment on lack of longevity for the Dewalt ToughSystem. My experience with the different sizes:

X-Large – Two in the garage. Both have bowed fronts. One is cracked on the base from standing on it (I weigh 150). The other is cracked around the lock area on the base…have no idea how that happened. Neither have seen any travelling use.

Large – One in the garage and one in the truck . The one in the garage has been fine, I keep some small power tools in it. The one in the truck has a broken handle for the exact reason Chris identified with where the stop is at on the handle. It is not taken out daily. Maybe once a month. That is a bad design for the handles. I no longer trust them and actually removed the spring mechanism from both sides as they are designed to dig into the plastic and destroy it. I only take it out of the truck with a combination of the top handle and cradling the bottom…not idea for a toolbox.

Small – This one has been fine. I keep my collection of Dremels and bits in this one. It does not leave the garage either.

None of them are water or dust tight. There really is no point for the valve. You can press on the top of the lid when it is closed and hear air escaping from the sides. I thought mine was a seal issue but I tried pressing on all of them at the store and the same thing happened. I would call them “weatherproof.”

I think temperature is a pertinent factor in fragility. My Tough System boxes are far more brittle at -40f compared to indoor storage. Several of my boxes crack/break every winter.

Home Depot Ryobi battery/tool deal “missing” at UPS 2 weeks now. Pole Saw here but no batteries from same order.

Tool Nut Milwaukee trimmer/battery w/free tool order accepted last Friday, no action as of this post. (first TN order, no communication from them except order number)

I’m not too motivated to look through any more deals, thank you.

International Tool sent out an email – announcing some “deals” – I have no idea if any are good ones:

The deal that ends 4-30-20, has $30 off $299, $80 off $399, $150 off $499. The Milwaukee monster impact wrench is $699, $549 after the $150 discount. The impact is one inch, 1500-1800 foot lb.s torque.

ugh I slept on the deal for the installation driver. Been eyeing that one for a while. Would be a great replacement for my impact and drill during kitchen installation, I think.

The bare tool is $179, I suppose I could go that way because I already have a million batteries.

I still remember it being offered for $350 for a few hours at HD online last Thanksgiving day!
