Dewalt’s DWE315K oscillating multi-tool kit is on sale today, for $99. You get the kit, plus a triangular rigid scraping blade, for around $40 off the regular price. The scraper blade contributes another ~$15 to the savings.
The one downside to this otherwise fantastic oscillating multi-tool is that its blade change mechanism is only tool-free for Dewalt accessories, and for select other 3rd party accessories with similarly open-circle mounting rings. But you can still use it with other brands’ accessories, thanks to its universal fit system.

The Dewalt DWE315K features a dual-grip variable speed trigger, 3.0A motor, LED worklight, depth guide, and comes with a small selection of cutting and sanding accessories.
It’s a good tool that’s usually reasonably priced. At $99, it’s very aggressively priced and hard to pass up.
Price: $99

These are my favorite tools. I have the corded Dewalt one. It’s awesome.

A bit off topic – but I got emails from Acme and ToolUp this morning. Both were promoting what they purport to be special sales “today only” on Dewalt kits. They might be worth a look and some comparison shopping.

Toolbarn just chimed in with an email on what seems to be the same “sale”

I got the cordless one, I have so many batteries, and tools like this see usually a minute or so of use when I need them, hard to think it would need a cord and that hassle.

I ended up getting mine 2 years ago as a Christmas gift. Within the past year I’ve been collecting dewalts 20v tools. Now have this tool that’s tethered to a wall. I still use it no problem, but now that I have the cordless platform, I’m wanting a cordless OMT. although I don’t have a need for one.

I have the Porter Cable corded and DeWalt cordless, I don’t see the downside to the blade style, I’ve never once had a problem finding a blade to fit, Dremel, Rockwell, Dewalt OEM, Integra, even store brands are all readily available.
Chris
When you say you’ve never had a problem finding a blade to fit, are you talking about blades compatible with the quick change? Rather than just compatible with the tool even using the included screw? Which brand do you prefer? Which brands are cheap but good quality? I’m kinda bummed, I got this awesome tool but the blades are expensive as heck. And I’m kind of in need of a new blades. Just looking for opinions on what blades to get. Stuart/Ben any of your inputs would be helpful here also! =)

I have to start checking ToolGuyD daily, I’m in the market for an oscillating multi-tool and have a grout project coming up.
What are folks thoughts on the Harbor Freight variable speed oscillating tool?
Chris
I check ToolGuyd many times a day. Sometimes I just refresh the page, hoping a new post has been delivered.

Hmm, maybe I need to build a “did you see this post yet:” random archived post link generator.
I remember checking my favorite sites for new posts, and it was sometimes frustrating seeing nothing new.
Right now, most ToolGuyd posts are scheduled or immediately published prior to 11am ET, when the automatic newsletter is sent out. Post frequency will increase during the holiday season, and will hopefully continue after the new year.
