Over at Acme Tools, they have a Dewalt “flash sale” promo, today only, 1/12/2022. The promo is for 10% off select orders $99+, with a maximum discount of $150.
The deal also includes select Lenox, Irwin, and Stanley tools and accessories.
The list of eligible Dewalt tools is vast, and includes some that are rarely included in other promos. This might be a good time to buy anything that’s on your immediate-needs shopping list.

The discount *does* stack on top of some already-discounted tools and kits, such as the new DCF850B Atomic series impact driver that’s still priced at $99 for the bare tool.
Ground shipping is a flat $6.49, or free for orders $199+.

Is this the best deal? Right now, yes, this is a very good deal in my opinion. Acme Tools did not have a 14% Valentine’s Day deal last year. In previous years, their Valentine’s Day deals were for 14% off one item or 14% off $350+.
I took advantage of Acme’s 10% promo over the holiday season to buy a couple of new Dewalt tools, and would eagerly do the same now.
You can hold out for a greater discount than 10%, but it’s more difficult than usual to predict when the next or better promo might come around. If you are prepared to wait, it might be a while.

10% off sales with a cap – seem to be the new COVID-related normal for sales these days. I took advantage of one that Acme did on New Year’s Day to buy (preorder) a Makita 40V-XGT track saw kit and an extra battery – both for a gift. Then – a week or so later ToolUp had a 15% off deal on accessories – which I used to buy a few odds and ends plus some extra-different blades for the Makita saw. I’m now sitting on the spare battery and blades waiting for the saw kit to come into stock and ship.

Unrelated to this. But Northern Tool has the Keter Foldable 1000 lb bench for $90 free shipping etc.. not sure how long it is that price.

Is this a good starter work bench? I currently have nothing, but have been doing more around the house, and could really use some type of work bench or table.

Stuart had a post last year about the Workmate – including a link for one that sells for the bargain price of $35 on Amazon:

The workmates are very handy! I have an older model, it’s probably from the 1970’s, but it’s essentially the same thing as the 225 that you linked above. Only difference is that it’s painted blue and has some parts made of cast aluminum instead of steel tubing. They are very handy.

I like Dewalt’s, although it can be hard to find sometimes and the price has gone up in recent years.

Our guys moaned about plastic sawhorses and worktables that became brittle and cracked on impact in very cold weather. But that’s a non-issue if you plan to use them indoors or in more temperate climes – rather than up closer to the Canadian border or the Mountains in the northeast in the winter.
When the ground is so frozen that you break teeth off your backhoe bucket – you know it’s not the time for plastic outdoors.

I use it as a portable workbench as I renovate a house room by room. It has lasted 6 months no breakage full function and sturdy. Folds up easily and stores in little space. I paid about $90 on sale from Acme I think.

Geez, I remember when they retailed for $50-$60 a few years ago. I had 2 of the 750lb cap adjustable leg versions then for ~$75. That looks to be on sale at Northern too for $100.
Very good tables for sure. I laid a piece of 3/4″ finished plywood over it and secured it with mirror mounting tabs on the bottom. It was my permenant workbench for 3 years til I built a real solid bench last year.

I was going to push the button on a router (DCw600b) and plunge base when I saw a Dewalt deal on Buy two 5Ah batteries/charger starter kit and get free tool of choice (router was one of them). Problem is: inventory (most show ONE in stock which means NONE), that the starter kit is like $200. Well, since a battery-less DCW600B is like $150, I thought that is a deal. Problem is, I have 5 batteries already. And I still need the plunge base. Well, when I found a the plunge base for $70, and the router for $140, I was really like, … $210 for what I need, or $270 with two batteries kit. $60 for two batteries I could sell for $50 each but then, I have 2 that are 4 years old already and. You see the dilema, right 🙂
Waited a day and no stock of the router with that kit.
Also, I had $200 in credit on Amazon so, I didn’t “want” to spend out of pocket when I had gift money. Should have the tool Friday, and the plunge mount…who knows since Amazon has said it will update with shipping date…not shipped date.
I do not have enough black-yellow tools…nope.
