Shown above is the top way I’ve been using it so far – to attached a TStak drawered tool box to a ToughSystem rolling tool box stack.
I just bought more ToughSystem 2.0 2- and 3-drawer tool boxes, but the TStak drawer units have very different appeal. TStak 1- and 2-drawer tool boxes – with the 2-drawer being my favorite – are much smaller than ToughSystem tool boxes, and also have top handles.
The adapter makes it easy to connect a TStak tool box to compatible ToughSystem 2.0 tool boxes.
But, that’s just part of their utility.
The double-sided adapter plate is also compatible with DeWALT’s Professional organizers, as well as their ToughCase accessory set cases.
I can remove my TStak tool box, flip the adapter plate, and connect any of my DeWALT Professional organizers.

I lost count as to how many DeWALT Pro organizers I have, but I can tell you that I bought 2 more this holiday season. While I haven’t needed to attach them to a ToughSystem stack yet, I could, and without having to buy a separate adapter.
The adapter plate also fits Dewalt ToughCase accessory cases, and I have a lot of those too, in small, medium, and large sizes.
DeWALT’s product imagery unintentionally shows a way that I’ve started to use the adapter plate – as a portable tote for multiple power tool accessory sets.
I had been using my large ToughCase bit sets as carriers for small and medium-sized accessory sets.
But I realized something – the adapter plate fits multiple cases AND it has a carrying handle.
I found this to be a convenient way to use it.
Lastly, it has slots for use with the belt clips found on DeWALT cordless drills and impact drivers.
The adapter was designed to help reduce the number of trips needed to haul a bunch of different DeWALT storage products to the jobsite or work area.

That’s NICE. I didn’t realize it adapted to more products than TStak. Since I use Toughsystem boxes, that might induce me have another look at the Pro organizers (I’m using Milwaukee organizers now).

You won’t be disappointed although those Milwaukee ones were really good too. As I’ve mentioned elsewhere, we have about 80, and have further bolstered them by adding 3D printed inserts that split the cups into between 1-8 compartments (1 being with no insert). This allows us to store small parts and small diameter fittings while minimizing storing of oxygen, which drives us crazy.
We use Packout organizers for hardware (screws, fasteners, bolts, etc) and some large parts that don’t fit in the Pro organizers, but most parts and all plumbing fittings up to 1” go in these and they work great. Plumbing larger than 1” doesn’t work well in organizers so gets tossed in Packout crates with some dividers to keep roughly organized.
We did inventory on Friday and we’re really happy with the setup.

Agreed! I hope DeWalt is reading. With Packout dominating the market and StackTech delivering and amazing competitor, DeWalt needs to step up their game and the sorest spot is a mounting plate.
For example, there are no ToughSystem wheeled bases. No problem…with a mounting plate and piece of plywood, I could make one much better for my needs than what anyone else makes…but can I?…nope….not unless I buy weird stuff 3D printed on etsy.
I’m in team yellow and actually really like TStak a lot since I only work indoors. I have a mixture of ToughSystem and TStak, but with ToughSystem’s new offerings, everything DeWalt has put out in the last year is just disappointing.

It’s probably not the solution you’re looking for, but you could screw the bottom box directly to the plywood wheeled base.

Not practical. One, I hate promo picts in HDR contrast. Come on DeWalt, stop that. Next, I have Dewalt cases and bins and I can’t see the latches lasting a job. And that maybe in transport, STACK Bins are ok. But what I am doing most of the time is opening all because.. .WHERE’S my jigsaw blades? Or my extension bits? or my cutoff saw? And most will want to melt/paint their name/logo or ID. Which brings me to, where can have a dedicated lid-mount (inside) for Apple Tag or other, to track?
Lastly, I want one that can open OUT while bins are locked under or on top? Not a drawer but a drop down to get to saw, drill, or see whats there. And Dewalt, for my whiniest time, make a tall enough 3.0 version to hold the Dewalt flooring tool with hammer and cleats/nails.
