Stewart, any idea when the Milwaukee 12v , 18 gauge brad nailer will be out?
Stuart
Sorry, I haven’t seen a firm ETA yet.

Thx for mentioning this. Ive hot a ryobi 18g that im afraid may stop working any day and I dont currently have a replacement if it does. Ive been keeping an eye on dto to get another ryobi cheap enough but m12 would be my ideal platform for this.
Adam
Direct Tools Factory Outlet has a reconditioned 18ga nailer bare tool for 69.99 right now. Or factory blemished for 66.59. Not bad prices.

I bought those EZ-Red Kiwi pliers in 2012 (for under $18) . I cannot say anything good about my pair. Maybe OK for retrieving the odd bit in an awkward spot – but the jaws on my set were not aligned well and there was too much “spring” in the tool to do any hard gripping. Maybe they’ve improved things in the intervening 11 years.
I see that Amazon sells a higher priced set under the Ares brand – but I don’t know if they are any better or worse:

Well they sure LOOK like they could use more meat, especially around the joint where the bending moment is greatest. And the teeth don’t interlock nicely, the way I’ve gotten used to in my NWS pliers (German, dontcha know.) That probably makes no difference in real life, but still.

I also bought a pair of the EZ-Red Kiwi’s about 10 years ago. I think I used one of them once. Their greatest utility, is surprising friends who never saw anything looking like that. Wish I was joking about that…

I’m sure you know this fred, but in case people are looking, Orbis (Knipex’s “sister” company, according to KC Tools), NWS, Snap-on, Titan, and others make angled or “pistol grip” needle nose pliers. There’s also a Husky version, but it’s available only in Canada for some reason. Bubba Blades and others also make a flimsier version in stainless steel for fishing (removing hooks I guess.)

The flexiclick and multi tool looks like a great deal. Not sure why it doesn’t scream “Brushless”. I had to read thru the whole Amazon page to find out that it is brushless.
If the flexiclick was available by itself for $99 I’d (gingerly) jump on it. My wallet is still sore from buying the Nikon Zf w/24-70 S lens seven days ago. It’s going to be a difficult holiday season for me.
$200 for two batteries and charger plus tool or $200 for a lighter tripod to take photos while hiking? 100-200 for case with drawers or waterproof photo backpack?
Sawstop or telephoto zoom lens? Neither. Got to get things for my girlfriend and her son as well.
Jason
I didn’t see it listed anywhere, Husky 1200 lumen USB-C flashlight is on sale for $20, seems like a nice deal

Should I just Just on the Milwaukee Trac Saw right now with this Promo, $529, -$100 = $429 with track, pack and battery.
Stuart
In my opinion, YES.
I’ve been working on a track saw promo roundup, and Milwaukee’s kits are already discounted. Add coupon savings on top of that, and it’s hard to turn down.
To clarify, the on-sale $529 kit doesn’t come with a track; you’ll need to buy the guide rail separately.
Dustin
So the track saw comes with the guide rails at $429?
Stuart
No.
Matt
The 3698-24MT deal at Acme seems pretty good, at $499 with two free tools that’s $100 per tool from an authorized retailer plus 2 HO batteries and a light.
