FastCap Long Nose Marker

FastCap, a company known for their problem-solver innovations, offers a double-ended long nose permanent and waterproof marker that can get into areas most other markers cannot. It features a wide chisel point, and a long-reach fine point.

There are other marking tools that can do the same job as the 1-1/8″ fine point end, such as Parker pen gel ink refills, but they’re still not markers.

This seems like a great combo – a regular wide point for most applications, and a more accurate fine point for when tracing inner or outer edges, or for reaching into deep areas.

The long nose pen is priced at $6 plus shipping. That’s a little steep for a marker, so make sure you really need the long reach before you buy.

I have noticed a great deal of reviews mention the smaller tip is very fragile and prone to breaking. At $6+ and the fact according to the manufacturers website that this might only be designed in USA, I’d really be thinking hard about buying this.

I have about 5 of these, got them cheap. The picture shows the last generation I believe, the new generation has a clip on it in case some of you are wondering.

I haven’t broken any of the tips yet and I’ve beeng using the same one marker for about a year now. They are a felt tip like regular markers.
When the point gets flattened due to excessive pressure or dropping it or anything similar. You can pull down the metal sleeve and cut the tip with a pair of sidecutters or a scissor. This makes it shorter but the tip will be perfect again, and the sleeve can then be used as a guard for the tip.

I would recommend this if you do alot of pattern or template drawing. If you don’t do that, then it might be handy to have laying around but not really needed.

I’m a fan of using an Xacto knife or mechanical pencils with 0.3 and 0.5mm leads for marking most fine lines – but can see how this might be handy if you did a lot of marking on melamine or other laminates.

Great product. This pen was designed for tracing tools out on foam control boards.

I used this with their tool control foam to shadow a small portable toolbox and this marker is great for tracing tools!
