This Fein Starlock-compatible oscillating multi-tool kit is $149.95 and eligible for an additional 15% discount, bringing the price down to $127.46.
Fein makes excellent oscillating multi-tools, and advertises the 350W MM 500 as delivering lower noise and vibration.
It comes with a small selection of accessories – 3 saw blades, a sanding pad, and an assortment of sanding sheets. The kit also comes with a tool bag.

Acme Tool’s coupon offer (code FEIN15) ends at 11:59pm CST on 6/22/24.

We posted about a different Fein oscillating multi-tool deal last week. With this other promo, you get the same tool with more accessories and hard case for $150.
The price increased to $169.95. but it’s also eligible for the coupon promo, dropping the price to $144.46.
I think that it’s worth the extra $20 for more accessories, but it also comes down whether you want a hard case or not. The lower price of the other promo looks to be a historic low. Both are excellent values for what you’re getting.
Starlock accessory compatibility will limit users to certain brands of oscillating multi-tool blades and accessories. Name brand accessories include Bosch, Diablo (Bosch), and Fein, and there are also many off-brand accessories should you be interested.

If you already have a Starlock-compatible tool or want to pick up additional blades, this “Fein Best of Starlock Renovation Kit” is $69.95, or $59.46 after coupon.

The same coupon code works on other Fein tools and accessories; the sale applies to more than just Fein oscillating multi-tools.
There is also an even less expensive OMT tool set, but it comes with a lower powered tool.

I wonder if the lack of comments here is indicative of the decreased interest in non battery powered tools in general?
Steve L
Yup.
If there is dust collector hose I don’t mind using a corded tool and for some tools I prefer the corded version.
OMT’s don’t connect to a dust collector. I will not buy a corded OMT at any price.

Bosch has this – https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078S7R5KD/ – for their Starlock OMTs.
Peter
Nice, I did not know they make one.
Thank you.

Fein has dust collection. It can be handy when making precise cuts in tight spaces. It clears the dust so you can see the cut line. I haven’t tried the dust collection on mine while cutting drywall, but I bet it would cut down on the mess. I have run all of the major brands cordless OMT and they all pale in comparison to my older corded Fein. The power, vibration control, blade quick change system, and durability are all far superior in the Fein. I have not tried a cordless Fein because no one that I work with has bought into any of their cordless offerings. I own a Dewalt multitool for the convenience of cordless and reach for it a lot, but when it comes to any heavy duty cutting for hours at a time, the corded Fein is my friend. For the casual user, I would only recommend cordless in your favorite battery flavor, but for a professional that counts on precision and a quality experience cut after cut the Fein is king of the tool pile.
Peter
Are you sure?
In the pictures they never show a hose attached to it.
In one pic they even show a hose laying next to like you would do when you have no way to attach a hose to it.

Peter, I own an older 12 volt cordless Fein multitool and while I love the tool it did not come with any form of dust extraction. On the newer 18v and corded units, dust extraction attachments are available, but they are designed to work exclusively with perforated triangular shaped sanding pads and rasps. At least that is my understanding.
I think dust extraction for any of the sawing or cutting attachments would be difficult to accomplish and I am not aware of anyone that offers such.

Fein makes a dust extraction adapter for their plug in and cordless modem OMTs. I’ve had several Fein OMTs over the last few decades. I have since switched to Milwaukee but there’s a reason I still keep an old corded Fein OMT around: it’s the only OMT that can fit under the toe of a cabinet to sand the corners of flooring.
Every other OMT I’ve had is just a little too tall to fit. When stripping an old hardwood floor it’s impossible to get in the inside corners under cabinets with any other power tool sander.

I have owned a Fein Supercut for years. Since most of most of my cordless tools are Milwaukee, I added the M18 version. It works well but is much less precise. I almost never use it in favor of the Fein.

Fein’s cordless model 71293661090, 18V AS MULTIMASTER 700 Max Top, is now 20% off at Tool Nut for $399.96. This looks like a good deal and I may order one.

Nice to see that kit includes 2x 4a batteries.

To followup on my two previous comments above, I ordered and received the Fein Multimaster 700 Max Top. This kit did come with the rather specialized and limited dust extractor, which only works with sanding pads and rasps. There is however, another available dust extractor, model #32133021010, that I was unaware of. It essentially gives you a forward facing dust port designed to work with most of the other cutting and sawing attachments.
