The last I checked, Pro > Performance.

      So… it’s tough to compare.

If you want fewer Performance pieces, look at the Costco deal. More Performance pieces or higher quality/pricier pieces, look at the HD Performance or Pro deals.

NewAge is also offering direct sales on individual components and all kinds of sets, but I would be very surprised if they’re undercutting their distributors.

If I recall correctly from when I was looking at the NewAge cabinets for personal use, they Pro cabinets are built with thicker sheet metal than the Performance.

Here’s the Costco deal for the Pro version. On the face of it, it appears it to be a better deal.

I’m looking for a smaller set myself though. I don’t have much space.

Not necessarily. It has 1 more top cabinet, but a different second bottom cabinet, and 2 bench tops 4 units long instead of 1 that’s 3 units long.

I do prefer the 10 cabinet combo instead of the 8. That side cabinet with bins and garbage bin storage doesn’t suit my needs as well as the one with doors and pull out shelf/drawer.

Newage has two different aesthetic designs, the Pro/Bold 3.0 and the Performance Plus/Performance (and their respective Diamond variants). The main differences between the two designs are the door hinge styles, door appearance, and the wall cabinet door-opening directions.

The Pro 3.0 steel is double the thickness of the Bold 3.0 (18 gauge vs 24 gauge), and the Performance Plus is 1.5x the thickness of the Performance (20 gauge vs 24 gauge). Not only that, the Pro 3.0 and the Performance Plus series are larger in every dimension compared to their lesser siblings (think of the Bold 3.0 and Performance as being 7/8 size) and they have greater weight capacities as well.

I have a Pro set, along with one Bold Series tool cabinet on casters, and for the weekend warrior, I think the 24 gauge steel is sufficient.

The Adjustable Ceiling Storage Rack, seem to use C Beams/channels for the frame. Overhead storage is great if you’ve got tall enough ceilings. I bought six or so Hyloft adjustable ceiling storage racks that were being clearanced at insane prices years back, don’t recall the weight rating, they seemed to be sturdy enough and the design makes it easier to adjust to differing stud spacing’s depending on how old your garage is and the code enforce at the time so for 16-30″ studs its more flexible, but the New Age looks sturdier. But spending money on overhead storage is well spent.

Overstock.com has the 8pc Newage Pro 3 w/ bamboo or stainless-clad work surface for $1999.99. Couple that with the 15% off email promotion that Overstock sends out around once every two weeks (not to mention no sales tax for most states and free shipping), and it works out to a much better deal. They even had a 17% off promotion on Black Friday!
