Giveaway: Channellock Pliers Gift Set!

May 25, 2012 Stuart 131 Comments

If you buy something through our links, ToolGuyd might earn an affiliate commission.

Channellock tools are great
with strong steel and handles blue
a set to give away!

Okay, so I’m not so good at haikus, but you get the picture. Channellock has offered us a sweet tool set to give away to one lucky reader!

Channellock Pliers Screwdriver Gift Set 2012

The set up for grabs is the GS-3S gift set, which includes 3 sizes of Channellock’s iconic tongue and groove pliers  – 6.5″, 9.5″, and 12″ – and a handy 6-in-1 screwdriver. It retails for about $41 via Amazon.

To enter to win this giveaway, just leave a comment below and tell us why you want to win these fine tools. Or tell us what you like about Channellock. Write a better haiku poem than the one above and you’ll get a bonus second chance to win.

(P.S. Channellock is also running a sweepstakes on their site – you may want to check that out as well.)

Although this is officially a Father’s Day giveaway, we won’t tell anyone if you win and keep the tools for yourself. Another option is to split the tools – two pliers for Dad, one plus the multibit screwdriver for yourself, or vice versa.

The giveaway ends June 12th, and a winner will be randomly chosen.

Unfortunately I’m not good enough to write a better haiku.

I’d love to get these to match the one Channellock tool I have. The Craftsman tools outnumber them and make them feel lonely.

Channellocks looks great in my box, so great I need to keep it locked. My wife’s box is better, but sorry guys I just wont let her.

When I used to work with my Dad he used to always call these type pliers “Water Pump Pliers” I always called them Channellocks. Whenever I see these it reminds me of him, he’s gone now but memories are great, and having the tools in my hand remind me of great times with Dad.

I would love to win these Please!

The blue color of the handles make the Channellock branded pliers make them easy to see in the garage, if and when they happen to be just lying around…waiting to be wiped off and put back in the tool drawer.
Nothing beats a Channellock for an adjustable plier.

Would love this set, as I’m building up my tool set piece by piece and somehow have overlooked Channellocks — had to borrow my Dad’s the last time I needed one.

    Or:

    Incomplete tool set…
    Channellock shaped space in box
    Will it be filled?

I somehow got through school and college without ever being educated on what a “haiku” is. I’d still love to win some quality tools though – I have a set of knock off channel pliers that slip, etc and hate using them… I’ve just not ever stayed frustrated long enough to buy a quality set of replacements since I keep going back to the fact that I have a set already. Please end this dilemma for me.

That much effort was good enough in fifth grade, so there!

I don’t know that I even have any Channellock or similar pliers. Actually now that I think about it, there are a few times that the pipe wrench was overkill so I could probably use a set of these.

In a far, far away universe, pipes no longer needed to be tightened.
However, then became along reality and forcibly so.
The pipes needed to be secured, but not just secured, there needed to be a channel of movement.

Then came along Channellock. Time to get my Channellock work on, to the furthest extent of power. Don’t just channel, lock that channellock!

My Dad has had his Channellocks forever and I love them. This would be a great way for me to upgrade from my hf set and have something I’m proud to let my son use.

Channellock, what do you think of when you hear that word? Tongue & grooved pliers, right? I would bet many people don’t know a set of tongue & groove or water pump pliers by anything other than “Channellocks” same as a set of “410s,” also a Channellock item. Certain brand names have become known as the item over time, Kleenex, Q-tip, Saran Wrap and the most important one: Channellock. There is a reason the best of the best become known…

I could really use these in my box. I am poor and can’t afford channel lock on my budget without depleating from the beer budget. On a side note all HF pliers should be labled as slip joint pliers please help me save my knuckles and let me win this set.

    I’m really hoping,
    you will ship to Canada,
    I can hardly wait!

I want to win because channel locks are the one basic tool I’m missing since I started compiling a new tool set after changing careers and being without for 25 years. Heck, I’d even pay shipping!

i love channellocks because they dont slip and pinch your fingers and the jaw doesnt break when you give them a good squeze. i was cheap and got a china pair for work and they just disapointed me and i knew they would, so i got a pair of channellocks and gave away the china ones. i need a set for home because most of the set i baught as a teenager disapered.

My father was the one who taught me how to fix things and gave me much of my core knowledge about how to troubleshoot. Without this know how I’d likely not know to tighten fasteners evenly instead of one at a time let alone anything more complex than that.

    …and now for a haiku…

Had my first experience with Channel locks in the military decades ago before they became public they was so great to use and easy to handle. Left Military and a few years later they became available to the public and I got one, but over time there was always someone who needed them worse than me and relieved me of them and I would get new ones. Now I am 55 years of age and trying to redue my tool box and get rid of all the foriegn stuff that is wore out, the only thing left in my tool box is a couple of craftsmen, Snap-on wrenches, a few hammers and the last pair of those lovely blue handled pliers that we are so fond of and that I have manage to hang to for the last 10 years, what is left of a set that I had purchased over 10 years ago and someone had relieved me of the others from that set.
I would love to win these to add and make my set complete again.

You know that neighbor everyone is saying borrowed their channel locks, that’s me. Soooo if I win a set i could return those borrowed pairs I have and everyone will be happy. Either that or I gotta move, I’m getting hate mail.
