And the Winners Are… (March, April 2015 Giveaway Winners Announcement)

The winner of the Weekend Tool Talk surprise package giveaway is Adam. Sorry, not adam, but Adam. The Adam that sent in a tip about Jet parallel clamp deal some time ago. His giveaway prize package has grown a little, and I’ll tell everyone what he won after he receives it. That way he’ll still be surprised.

Here are the winners of the April Tools giveaway:

Tom, who’s getting an SK stubby ratchet.

Tom (a different Tom), who’s getting an MLCS router bit set or Wera ratcheting screwedriver. He’s also getting a Triangle ratchet and extension. I’ve been meaning to send this out, but it kept slipping from my attention. Sorry!

Jim is getting a surprise gift package (mwahahaha).

Damon Eggling is getting one of the folding bolt cutters recently posted about.

John is getting some screws, just like he asked for. If he doesn’t prefer any particular size, he’s getting an assortment. Okay, I’ll throw in some surprise prizes too.

John G is also getting a surprise gift package.

MacGruber is getting some Xuron pliers and/or cutters (let’s say 2 or 3 styles – his request or my suggestion; I’d suggest their Kevlar shears or precision scissors to start).

Tim is also getting a surprise tool gift package.

Stephen is getting a surprise tool gift package.

Ktash is getting a $50 gift card to Amazon or Lee Valley (and they didn’t even enter the giveaway!).

Jason W doesn’t know what he wants, but I’ve got just the thing – a Stanley Fubar III demo bar.

Jason, who was supposed to get GLM 100 C from the test sample giveaway last Fall, is getting that prize (I found the pouch, manual, and 1 out of 2 charging accessories!) that should have been sent out a few months ago, plus a $50 gift card to help make up for any disappointment.

All winners have been contacted by email, and I hope to get all prizes out the door this week.

Thanks for entering the giveaway, and I hope everyone had fun! Maybe we’ll do it again sometime!

    Wow. That’s a lot of tools/gifts

Sometimes I wish I lived in the USA (so I can participate in your give aways) but other times I’m glad I live in Canada
    (no offense intended here)

I have sent prizes to Canadian readers in the past, but it’s usually an extra hassle. And I can be slow shipping out prizes or placing orders as is.

I started off with a $500 budget, and figured that 10 winners would be a good number. If I’m a little over budget, that’s okay, the boss (that’s me!) can be very forgiving.

        OK.
I politely ask what is the extra trouble on the senders part to ship to Canada.

I have found this to be common with many US sellers, either Ebay or other online retailers.

I have sent stuff to the US myself from Canada without any extra trouble.

If anything I would think that, if any, the trouble might be on the receiving end as there might be duties etc to deal with.

( The reason why I ask you Stuart is because I believe that you will provide the most honest/sincere answer)

Extra cost, extra time, potential customs costs, certain tools cannot be shipped across borders, and for brand-supplied prizes, they cannot ship outside the USA.

USPS has been the easiest way to ship to Canada, but it’s a lot harder for me to get to the post office than UPS or even FedEx.

For me, it’s not a hard rule, but one I do adhere to much of the time.

Everyone is a winner! Well ok not everyone, but still, that was a very generous contest. Maybe next time for me, (I didn’t post since I did not see the contest until a day or two had past and I figured I was too late. But I will keep a closer eye next time).

Congrats to everybody. As for me, looks like I’ll have to start my career as an axe murderer on my own dime. Sigh, the tragedy of it all.

If that’s not the epitomy of a first world problem, I don’t know what is….

Once again, congrats to everybody, and a big thankayoua to Stuart.
