I’m a little late this year, but I wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a Happy New Year!
2019 was a very interesting year, and it set the stage for a very exciting 2020, tool-wise. 2020 holds a lot of promise for cordless power tool developments and increased competition.

Here at ToolGuyd I have big plans for the next year of content, and I’m rather excited about that as well. There are a couple of fun projects in the works, or at least they’re projects I’m looking forward to, and I hope you find them fun and interesting too.
I’ll be taking things a little slow and easy this week, but there’s also a lot to do behind the scenes.
As we wrap up 2019, I am especially eager for any requests or feedback about the types of reviews or content you would like to see in 2020.
I’ve received a couple of requests for more knife reviews, more hand tool reviews, and a couple of comparisons. If there’s something you’d like me to consider, please be specific and I’ll add it to my list. I can’t make promises, but I’ll cover what I can.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, I didn’t buy any notable new tools this holiday season. What about you? Did you buy or receive any cool or useful new tools?
I’ve been reading my emails – thank you to everyone who has been writing in! – but it’s taking me far longer than usual to respond.

It might be fun to do some “open-ended” posts during the down-time between Christmas and New Years – for example a “tips and tricks” – I know I was surprised to discover that it’s easy to turn the Milwaukee Backpack vacuum off by sliding the pipe past the stop – it hits the switch and turns it off.

Yeah – works best in “floor” mode where you have it standing up – it might be possible to turn it off in backpack mode by bumping up against a doorframe strategically.

Happy Boxing Day for those for whom that is part of their tradition.
The last few days were a bit ecumenical for me. We had some Chanukah Latkes on Monday night with a take-out supper – as my wife finished baking Christmas cookies for our neighbors and church. On Tuesday – we went to a restaurant for a “7-Fishes Christmas Eve dinner. Then we spent a quite Christmas at home with the family opening presents and waiting on the turkey to roast. Now, today I’m reflecting on the blessings that the past year has brought to me and my family while looking forward to the New Year .
As we approach that new year, I wish good fortune and health to you (Stuart) – your family and team and to all your readers.

I have a good enough arsenal of tools now (many thanks to this website) so this new year I’m planning to really get stuff done with our property and house. With very young kids it will be a bit of a challenge but getting them involved early should be fun!!!
