I hope you have a happy and healthy Thanksgiving!
Relax, eat lots of food, and then fuel up on dessert for some late night Black Friday deal shopping! That’s certainly what I plan to do.

Eh, who am I kidding?! With all the playing and chasing around I’ll be doing with my son, niece, and nephew, I’ll be all tuckered out by 9pm or so, maybe sooner. But I wouldn’t have it any other way.
In the midst of all the food, online shopping (maybe in-store too), football, and all that comes with the holiday, try to spend some quality time with friends and family, or maybe just take a quiet few minutes for yourself.
There’s a lot for me to be Thankful for. Even if I don’t say it often enough, I’m very thankful for all of you. When I started ToolGuyd 7 years ago, I had no idea what I would be getting myself into. It was simply a way for me to talk about tools under my own “roof”.
Without you, there would be no ToolGuyd, at least not as it exists today.
I’m doing something I love, for an audience and community that I love and appreciate.
So thank you all for your continued support!

One of the things I am thankful for today is people who use the Internet in a thoughtful, helpful and articulate way to educate others without hype or hysteria. So I am thankful for ToolGuyd and the readers.
Travis
Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy the family!
Stuart
Thanks, everyone!
Well… I jinxed myself.
We were 20 minutes into a 90 minute drive when the car started overheating. Couldn’t drive for more than a minute before it overheated again. And again.
With it being Thanksgiving, there’s not much we could have done. No service stations are open, no parts shops are open, no tow trucks were available.
It took about an 1 hr 45 mins to drive 16 miles home, stopping maybe 10-15 times.
Heater was blowing cold air, so… broken coolant pump is my best guess.
I guess it could have been worse and we could have gotten stranded a lot further away from home.

Hi Stuart
Wasn’t online yesterday to see you post – but hope you’ll remember the nice parts of the holiday despite the car trouble. I also hope that the overheating didn’t do any major damage to the engine – bearings etc. an that you’ll look back on this and say thanks that it wasn’t too bad after all.
Let’s also hope that the rest of this holiday season goes without a hitch.
Stuart
Thanks!
It was an unfortunate adventure, but it could have been a lot worse. I gave the car lots of breaks, and we took local roads home instead of the highway, and so hopefully there’s no damage.
We still had a good evening.
I came home to find an email from Onstar telling me that everything is A-OK with my vehicle as part of their monthly update, with the time stamp being from a bit after the trouble started. Grr.
