Harbor Freight Kicks off October 2021 with a Free LED Worklight

Harbor Freight Free LED Worklight Coupon October 2021

There are typically 3 guarantees in life – taxes, death, and free tchotchkes at Harbor Freight. It seems that their freebie tools and worklights have been gone for a while, but now it’s back, at least for a limited time.

Now thru 10/3/2021 and while supplies last, you can score a free LED puck light a Harbor Freight with any purchase.

The worklight is said to deliver 144 lumens of illumination.

Harbor Freight says that their ultra bright LED worklight/flashlight compares to the Performance Tool W2364.

If you want to buy them, Harbor Freight currently sells these lights for $1.79 each. It has a hanging hook on the back, as well as a magnetic base.

The light is powered by 3x AAA batteries for up to 48 hours. There’s also a front LED for use as a flashlight.

Surprisingly, Harbor Freight has upgraded this light over the years. It now has a single large COB-style LED emitter, rather than individual lights arranged in an array.

This isn’t something I would buy or recommend, and I wouldn’t go out of my way to get this, but free is free. Keep this coupon in mind in case you’re headed to Harbor Freight over the weekend.

I’m also mentioning this because quite a few readers noticed and commented on the scarcity in Harbor Freight coupons and freebie offers over the past few months. Looking at my inbox, they had a similar 4-day freebie offer last  March, and that seems to have been it for a while.

These lights aren’t bad. They have a decent magnet on the back. I stuck a few up on the inside of an old metal shed a couple of years ago. They’re still in place and give me light when I need it.

I agree. Not a premium light, but for free it works well enough.

I’ve had a bazillion of the previous style of this light (when it was just an LED array). It’s a handy design – the magnet + the hook give it versatility.

I found them to lack in durability. Unsurprisingly, the insides have the absolute thinnest contacts, wire, etc and they don’t survive rough handling.

Not a bad freebie and I assume the COB emitter is an upgrade. I would never pay money for them though, or go out of my way for one.

My personal favorite old HF freebie was the magnetic parts tin. Now THOSE are incredibly useful with no downsides.

I have enough clutter. I’d rather buy a quality light that works well and is enjoyable to use. This one would sit in a drawer for months / years until I find the alkalines have leaked and it’s time to throw it away. Free is a good value, not necessarily a good deal.

Nothing here to make me want to stand in line at my local HF – and risk a COVID contact. I’m also still pretty well stocked up on chip brushes and nitrile gloves – the 2 items for which I shop HF.

There are lines at your HF?
Ours may have 1 register and 1 or 2 customers checking out. That place is pretty much deserted since prices have gone up and weekly coupons are gone.
Stopped by the other day to check out 3 items, price up by a 1/3 on the first, two other items out of stock.
I had to laugh about the tables of ” manager’s specials ” up to 75% off clearance … and everything there was full price, compare to …
Left again without anything at all. I stop by once a month maybe for something or another that HD or L’s doesn’t carry; but at the inflated prices … Meh. And as few foot traffic as they have now, I think most people are skipping HF, except maybe those who do need the lowest price item retail.

There used to be lines at my HF as well as difficulty finding parking. I think I will don a mask and pay them a visit this weekend. I want to check out their new Doyle bench vises and 3/4 hp transfer pump. I’ll put this coupon to use. Thanks!

I was just surmising based on my last visit which was many months ago.
The closest HF is about 8 or 9 miles away from me – compared to two HDs which are each about 3 miles away. The HF always seemed to be buzzing with “contractors” and their parking lot – plus another close by one for a Home Depot always looked like an informal shape-up location for day labor.

Of all the free stuff they used to give out, I always found these lights to be the least useful of the bunch. 6″ magnetic bowls, magnetic tool holders, tarps, leather gloves, and moving blankets were always my go to grab for the free coupons.

I really miss they way HF used to be, whenever I needed anything the first place I would look was the harbor freight coupon database to see if they had it there, and then see what I could grab for free to boot. I have not been there in months, but I do have a few under $10 items listed waiting for them to do one of their 30% off 5 items coupons.

I understand why they changed, but for me shopping there was more a thrill of the hunt for a good deal, which I do not get if I am paying for a membership in order to access said deal. I have defaulted to hunting for clearance at homedepot and lowes and accepting that as enough.

HF: cheap dollies, packing blankets and tarps. All expected to be “lost”, damaged or destroyed. That’s my SOP regards HF.
So while I kinda miss the Sunday newspaper HF inserts just for the entertainment value I’ve never really cared to support them beyond the disposable level.

Used one recently that my dad slapped on the side of his tool box. The lighting in their pole barn isn’t the greatest, neither is my vision. I was trying to find the clips to remove the air filter box lid on my Acura.

Those little work lights have come in handy a number of times.

This just made me remember my first time learning about and coming across Harbor Freight. I found it online because I never had one near me. I just remember looking around thinking , “wow, this is amazing.” I bought a bunch of tools and when they arrived, boy was that a bubble bursting reality check. Ever since then if I plan on using it more than once, I get a premium tool. Definitely made me subscribe to the “buy once, cry once” school of thought. But anyhow, about those lights. Idk if it’s just me but I’ve never had one lat more than 2 sets of batteries before giving out. I cracked one open and for as cheap as they sell them, you better believe there’s a profit margin on them.

Better light is the new 200 Lumen LED Super Bright Flip Light. Looks like a regular light switch and can be attached with either the included magnets, self stick Velcro tape, or screws. Works like a light switch, flip the switch up and a lot more light than from the Hockey Puck light and easier to use. Uses 4 AAA batteries included for like $2.39. Found mine at the check out counter waiting in line. These are a lot better than the Hockey Puck light; instant light rather than hitting the button and getting the useless little light on the Hockey Puck then clicking again to get the main light. Try these you’ll like them

Be a smart consumer. Harbor Freight is obviously noticing a downturn in sales every since they nixed the sales and coupons. Now sales and coupons are coming back. The sales and coupons aren’t good enough to continue to avoid Harbor Freight and they will return to their old ways.

I looked at their motorcycle stand today, for shiggles, and it’s up to $550! That price jumped up a great deal in a very short amount of time.

My guess is that HF is really struggling given the various problems that COVID has caused. Freight rates for shipping container cargo from Asia are sky-high right now, not just because of the pandemic but also ripple effects from when the Ever Given got stuck in the Panama Canal last year. The price of steel is through the roof right now too.
