Hart Tools launched their STACK modular storage system about a year ago, welcoming tool users to “meet the portable DIY-life.”
To my surprise, Hart has recently expanded their Stack system with new tool and parts storage products. In fact, several new Hart Stack storage SKUs popped up in search.
We never hear from Hart Tools – they explained that they’re solely focused on social media marketing – and so these new storage products could have launched anytime in the past 12 months since I last checked.

As a reminder, Hart tools and storage products are exclusively available at Walmart.
Let’s take a look at what’s new (or newish):
Hart Stack Organizer

There’s a new clear-lid tool and parts organizer.

It looks to feature 10 removable bins in small (8) and large (2) sizes. There’s also a narrow compartment down the middle that’s shown holding narrow parts in product images.
The shape of the lid helps to keep smaller parts within their own cups during vertical transport or storage.
Price: $22

Hart Stack Half Organizer Unit

There is also a new 15-compartment half-size Stack organizer. It features removable dividers, a clear lid, and fixed carrying handle.
Hart says that their organizer is perfect for DIYers, crafters, and hobbyists.
You can attach one or two half-size organizers to the top of a Hart Stack tool box.

Shown here is a bundle set, featuring a Hart Stack modular tool box and (2) half size organizers.
Price: $15 (each), $40 for the bundle
Hart Stack 2-Drawer Tool Box

The new Hart Stack 2-drawer tool box features internal dividers and a fold-up locking strip to help keep everything contained during transport..
Hart says that this tool box is: a perfect storage solution for home DIY, crafting, jewelry-making and scrapbooking.
A word of caution – it has been my experience that tool boxes with drawers can bind if heavy tools, parts, or tool boxes are placed above them.
Price: $44
Hart Stack 3-Case Organizer Unit

This Hart Stack organizer tool box features 3 clear organizer boxes are fully removable, each with their own carrying handles.
Hart’s product description says that there are moveable dividers, and it looks like each organizer case has up to 18 compartments.
As with the 2-drawer tool box, this one also has a fold-up locking slip to keep everything together for transport,
Price: $44
Discussion
While I wouldn’t expect these Hart Stack storage products to hold up against more premium solutions from Craftsman, Dewalt, or Milwaukee, they look to offer reasonable features at fair pricing. Maybe.
I checked for Hart Stack storage products the couple of times I visited Walmart stores in the past year, and they never had any on display.
Keep in mind the target audience – DIYers and crafters – as well as the price points, and adjust your expectations accordingly.
It’s good to see that Hart actually expanded the Stack lineup, and I hope they continue to do so. It’s always good to have more storage options.

Drawers? I didn’t expect that from Hart.
Those half size organizers might be alright. I really like the Milwaukee ones, but they aren’t cheap. While I wouldn’t expect these to be equivalent, it’s nice to have lots of small compartments.

WHAT IN THE COTTON PICKIN’ WORLD RIDGID???
Dewalt, Milwaukee, Ryobi and now even Hart HAVE DRAWERS!!!
I can’t even…

With regards Rigid brands at HD I’d attribute that to HD just trying to keep their shelves filled given their ultimate dependence on their “sales associates” that they simply don’t invest in nearly enough. Retail life in the 2020’s.
Keter or whoever in Israel that makes their black case system obviously doesn’t push Atlanta to truly compete. Maybe Milwaukee et al are just too overwhelming?
BTW we use both. And they aren’t really directly competitive. IMO both great in their own unique way.

I don’t need a heavy-duty solution for Wagos, wire nuts and connectors, ground screws and crimps, #6/8/10 machine screws/nuts, conduit straps, and all those little things that you need a LOT of to install the electrical when building a house. So an inexpensive solution that holds a lot is nice.
Currently, I use a (rather sizable) stack of Tstaks for this purpose, because the cheaper Dewalt/Stanley non-system solutions are kind of… weak (they all cracked or broke). I wouldn’t mind a cheaper solution to outfit more teams. The Milwaukee Packouts are nice but not very space efficient, and not cost-effective for the quantity I would need.
I’m willing to take a look since I have Walmart+ for free (and I live where Walmarts are not convenient–they won’t deliver groceries). If they’re not that great, it’s an easy return. But, the price isn’t really that great, so I’ll probably evaluate and if they’re OK, maybe set a price point and if it hits it, then go for it.

I wonder if the Ridgid clear top attaché style multiple container case would appeal to you? I know they stand up to a certain amount abuse. And bounce pretty nicely. And at $30 a pop maybe check them out?

I’ll take a look! It would be nice if the Ridgid stacking system had more options, but since I’m looking outside my systems now, a good product would be welcome. Thanks for the tip!

Walmart seems to have different stock in different locations in particular their hardware DIY area. The one near my house has just an aisle of both tools and hardware, some rural locations have 3 aisles of just tools. There is one near my work that has quite a bit of hart stuff including some of these in display.

Check out Husky Connect system, which has drawers. Same price point but better in every measure. I would say Husky Connect is the best among the “lighter duty” systems. It is made by Keter and never stay long on HD shelves. Perfect for most people who do not need the heavy duty and the weather protection of the Packout and the Tough System.

Yes, but they don’t (yet?) have a unit like the “Hart Stack 3-Case Organizer Unit” and it’s something I’d buy (having previously hacked something similar up:

KETER Stack’N’Roll = Hart Stack ? In my opinion, this is the same system.
Stuart
Maybe? Keter does make most (if not all) Hart plastic storage products. There’s also a Worx Stack and Roll system, presumably made by Keter too.

I grabbed one of the Keter knockoff work benches from Hart, and it’s been used, abused and happy to come back for more.
Great purchase for around $50.

The half case looks nice…I’ve got lots of small parts for building ethernet, would be nice to break them out and have more bins with less capacity.
Will these link with a Dewalt TSTAK or no?
Stuart
These look to lock on the front, and Dewalt Tstak lock on the sides.
These are presumably made by Keter, Dewalt Tstak is made by Stanley Black & Decker.

I’m finding more and more Hart branded items along my tool bench. No power tools (nor do I think there will be), but definitely some hand tools and storage / organizers.
If I were heading out to a site every day, I would probably take a pass on Hart but for a non-professional, I’m very happy with quality / build and price.
I think someone mentioned Husky, and I would put Hart : Husky in the same category.
Stuart
Generally speaking, Hart is NOT at the same level as Husky.
Across the lineup, Hart averages out as an entry-price brand, comparable to Home Depot’s HDX. Home Depot does put the HDX label on mid-level quality products (e.g. painting consumables), just like Walmart does the same with Hart.

Very disappointing for those of us in the Rigid system that they are so far behind with options and different boxes.
Dave R.
Agreed. I live on a farm, and I have a little cart I tow around with me. A stack with drawers would be perfect for me to keep the stack and be able to get screws, wirenuts, bolts, etc in and out quickly.
Right now I just have those dewalt organizers tossed in there. Tempted to try this Hart solution on it.
Nicholas Hill
Everything I have is either Flex or Craftsman. But now anything new will be Hart just can’t bet the price. It would be nice if they would lock together with Craftsman like DeWalt does. Hey maybe that’s next.
