Hazet Screwdriver Bit Set 2200SC-1

The Hazet 2200SC-1 69pc SmartCase Bit Set is a compact screwdriver bit assortment that provides a selection of insert bits, power bits, hex keys, and bit holding accessories, in a convertible case.

What’s most interesting about this Hazet bit set is its case, which has a magnetic closure and innovative opening and access mechanism. The case opens up similar to a book, and can either be laid flat or perched in a tablet stand-like configuration for a smaller footprint and easier visibility of set contents.

You get a miniature screwdriver bit handle for manual fastening tasks, and a locking bit holder that can be used with cordless drills and screwdrivers.

This isn’t Hazet’s only SmartCase product – they have other tool sets with similarly unique opening and display mechanisms.

The deal of the day pricing is only valid 7/26/21, unless supplies sell out sooner. At the time of this posting, KC Tool has a late August shipping ETA. They have free shipping on $75+ orders.

Price Comparison

Amazon DE: €94.28 (~$111 USD)

It appears that KC Tool’s prior price, before this deal went live, was $135.61.

My Opinion

$90 for a 69-piece screwdriver bit set still seems a bit steep, but Hazet’s tools generally aren’t inexpensive. Plus, part of that cost goes towards the unique SmartCase.

Wera SAE Tool Check

If you’re looking for something different but in the same pricing ballpark, I really like the Wera Tool Check Plus and Bit Check screwdriver bit and accessory sets.

Wera’s smaller 30pc Bit Check screwdriver set, which comes with 29 bits and a locking bit chuck, is priced at $36 via Amazon. The sale pricing on the Hazet set is roughly proportionate.

The Hazet’s SmartCase seems very convenient, but if that’s not winning you over, there could be better bargains or other options that better fit your needs and wants.

Hazet’s promo video shows how the SmartCase works, but with a different tool loadout.

    Really slick looking case.

Seems like Wera, Felo and now Hazet all have tools in this sort of related style. I have a Felo Smart M-tec nutdriver/screwdriver set that’ while different, is also pretty neat. I use it a lot – those M-tec nutdrivers are awesome, even more so when combined with the Felo Smart screwdriver/T-handle.

Longer bits with a mechanical bit-holder (like this Hazet), would be nicer than the insert bits and magnetic holder that come in my kit. For the money though, I think I’d rather get the Felo Smart screwdriver set with reversible bits.

Hazet seems to be using the same sort of case on this kit (about $17 $170 with the 10% off promo code:

My bad or wishful thinking >> $17 should be $170

I like the case. It would work great for a compact computer repair setup. What worries me is the durability of it. The flexible part looks like vinyl and if it hardens and breaks there goes the case.

The small bit holding blocks look really useful. I wonder if there is a way to find something similar for sale.

I have really been wanting to try Hazet, but I just can’t get over the cost of admission. Had this set included a few sockets I may very well have pulled the trigger. But like you Stuart, the tool check seems to be the better option(I have both the metric and imperial set) of the Wera.

Man I like it, too bad I can’t justify it. I have what I need in this area.

I have the Wera check plus set But the handles are so tiny as to be almost useless.

Personally, I reach for my Wera “Tool Check” when I need smaller drivers such as a bit ratchet, or when I want to use the bits or sockets with a separate tool.

This set is Hazet in name only.

Hazet doesn’t make bits, bit holders, nor screwdrivers, and I’m pretty sure they don’t make hex keys either. That’s all well and good, as their outsourced items are usually high quality, much like Stahlwille and Gedore. However, the bits in this case (pardon the pun), sure look exactly like the same cheap East Asian bits all of the other European companies resell in their budget kits. Someone do the homework and look up the asking price for this set outside of North America. Hazet/Gedore/Stahlwill usually sell for three times as much here as anywhere else, so my guess is 20 to 40 euro (which is already too much).

When I checked yesterday, Amazon DE had it for 94 euros (~$110). Today it’s 71 euros (~$84 USD).

I take back some of my yet to be moderated comment. This kit is not any cheaper outside of the US and there’s some strong marketing of “designed and produced in Germany”. So my presumptions about the bits origins are more than likely wrong.
        They’re still outsourced, nonetheless,
