Porter Cable’s newest 3-amp oscillating tool is a quite capable 2nd-generation multi-tool that offers several upgrades over their previous 2.5-amp model. It’s normally priced at $130 via Amazon, which seems an appropriate price for its features, quality, and included accessories.
Lowes is currently selling the Porter Cable multi-tool at a 50% discount as part of their Black Friday sale. We cannot understand how they can do this, but that doesn’t change the fact that $69 is a heck of a good price for a high-performing oscillating tool complete with a tool-free blade change mechanism.

Update: Amazon has matched Lowes price of $69. Buy Now
If you’re worried about being able to use other brands’ oscillating tool blades and accessories with this tool, the universal adapter kit is currently less than $10 via Amazon.
Competition is fierce among oscillating multi-tools in the $120-160 range. But at well under $100, the Porter Cable PCE605K is hands-down the best option around. Until supplies run out and the $69 price jumps back to $139.
Deal ends 11/26/12 or unless supplies run out, whichever comes first.

Thank you for posting this. I’ve been looking for a deal on an oscillating tool and this is just the thing. I scooped up one for pickup at my local Lowes.

Just saw that as well, thanks for the note! I have updated the post.
I’m crossing my fingers that Amazon matches a lot of other doorbuster deals this year.

Is this Porter Cable a better Oscillating tool than the Bosch? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004HKCGQK/ All of my blades are aftermarket and will not fit the PC without the adapter (which eliminates the quick change feature of the PC). By the time I buy the PC and the adapter, I would be over the price of the Bosch for $75.

I would rank the new Bosch MX30 Multi-X a better option than the Porter Cable, but its price is currently much higher. The MX25 that’s on sale for $75 after you add a filler and take advantage of the $25-off-$100 promo does not have a tool-free blade change.
At $78 for the Porter Cable plus separate universal adapter or $75 for the Bosch MX25 kit, I would consider the PC to be the better buy.
