Well, it’s back – Home Depot’s holiday cordless tool combo kit bonus sale!
The season-long promo is similar to previous years’ holiday cordless tool bonus deals, but it looks like it’s being run a lot clearer. You do have fewer free item choices, but some great choices nonetheless.

The value of the freebie varies, and for each brand there are 8 to 10 tools you can choose as your free bonus tool.
The tools should be delivered at the same time as the eligible brushless combo, in the sense that this is not a mail-in rebate-type promo. The tools have to all be in your cart, and the discount should be applied before checkout.

Buy the Milwaukee M18 Fuel with One-Key Combo Kit, at $499, and pick 1 of 29 add-on tools (listed via the Buy Now link), and you get $200 taken off the total.
It looks like some, but not all of the add-on tool options are the same as for the M18 Fuel kit.

If I want the free tool I cannot mix and match? I have to stay brand specific?
Stuart
It looks like that’s the case.
BonPacific
Can’t imagine Milwaukee taking it too kindly if they subsidized your new DeWalt tool.
Adam
In the past they didn’t mind so much. I found myself getting Ryobi accessories (lights, fan, etc) a couple years ago with Milwaukee, but if I was Dewalt, I’d want them sticking yellow or vice-versa. Then again Milwaukee & Ryobi are both TTI
Mackie
In the past, they have.
justaguy
The Milwaukee $150 off after spending $400 isn’t too bad, the FUEL tools are much more powerful than the $299 M18 tools, the bad is that this $400 kit is $50 more than it was last week, but last week, none of the free tools were FUEL tools, this week for $50 more, you can get a FUEL sawzall, which is what I wanted since my old dewalt sawzall used to go through batteries like toilet paper.
I can’t get all three FUEL tools and charger and 2 battery packs for this price on ebay, so I’ll probably go ahead and get these as soon as the “final” HD black friday ads come out. These are just teasers, great teasers, but I don’t believe this is the best they can/will do, as far as deals go.
Stuart
Last year, the similar cordless power tool combo promo didn’t get better with time. Some of the bonus items sold out fast, which is perhaps why there’s more limited selection this year.
Dacan
Last year in January the 2897 kit dropped to $349 and the $150 promo still ran until end of Jan I think.
Stuart
I don’t think I was aware of that, thanks!
It’s a tough call. Buy now and face having to do a return/rebuy or price adjustment if the price gets lower, or wait to buy and risk it selling out or not dropping in price.
K2
Was sad to see the Milwaukee offered the old band saw, not the fuel. If the other is $200 back, why do they care ?
Leif
Any idea why dewalt would say brushless kit when refering to the 985 and 885?
Cr8ondt
I’m thinking there is an error in the Home Depot ad, not DeWalt’s fault.
Cr8ondt
Looks like they have removed “brushless” from the advertisement.
Stuart
The main promo ad still says they’re all brushless.
Seems like an honest mistake.
Chris H
In store, the 150/200 off Milwaukee promo says “any Milwaukee cordless tool”, so you might be able to get something better than the 29 tools linked to on the website.
I bought the $499 OneKey kit along with the 9Ah starterkit w/free FUEL circ saw ($249) and the $200.00 off was spread across both of them.
Keith
Yup. The 9.0 kit ended up around $182 before taxes doing it that way. Good way to get another $50 off that already primo $250 deal from ACME.
matt
im wondering if any of you will contribute to a ” which of these is the best value ” question that is wrecking havoc on my brain
WPNZ
I also noticed HD has a free Dewalt FlexVolt battery with some of their combos.
Couldn’t find a landing page for the deal but they have signs up at the store and here is a link to one of the deals.

Stuart
There are a few more.
Free FlexVolt Battery Promo
There also looks to be another promo where you get a free bonus tool when you buy a new 20V Max tool with FlexVolt battery kit.
FlexVolt Kit and Free Tool Promo
Mackie
Leaked black Friday ads show 3pc combos from the big four at home depot for $399 with 2 free bare tools.
Stuart
The examples shown in the flyer are a 3.0Ah battery 2-pack at $99, and saws at $119 each.
The full list isn’t up yet, but I’d guess the focus will be on lower priced “core tools”.
Amazon’s Dewalt Deal looks to have more premium and specialty offerings:
https://14cyiuhvcgv.com/dewalt-cordless-starter-kit-free-tools-deal-h2016/%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E
Taking advantage of both deals would result in a very good Dewalt 20V Max starter kit.
Mackie
I was leaning toward DeWalt as well as I want to buy into their cordless nailer offerings and also have a powerful back up impact and a few decent batts.
The reviews on the pictured 3 speed model seem favoring and the specs are up to par. I haven’t heard anything negative regarding its performance.
I realize it’s early and info may be lacking, but would you assume that the DeWalt circ Saw included would be the premium model with mag shoe?
Stuart
I believe so, since the DCS391B is regularly priced at $119, which is shown on the sales page.
I don’t think the non-premium DCS393 is sold as a bare tool, DCS393B; it looks to only be bundled in combo kits.
