Over at Home Depot, they’re looking to clear out lots of “special buy” tools that are left over from the holiday season. Some of these deals are available online, others are only available in-store, requiring a bit of legwork.

First off, the Leatherman Skeletool $20 deal is still going strong in stores, where it hasn’t sold out yet. It was once again available for online ordering earlier today, but that no longer looks to be the case.
If you see the Skeletool in-store, and the price tag still says $30, ask for a price check at a register or customer service. At my local store, the tag said $30, but the register said $20. Since the tools were moved from the holiday deal area and to the tool aisle, someone must have missed changing the price tag.
My local store had a couple of Milwaukee M18 drill/driver kits (2606-21CT) on sale for $69. That’s how much a 1.5Ah compact battery costs if you buy it separately.
Of course I bought one – how could I pass up this deal?. Hey Dad, you’re getting a new drill!
I toyed with the idea of buying 2 for myself for use in a robotics project, but thought better against it. I have way too many other projects I need to get to first.

You might have to do some legwork with this one. The price is still $99 online, but maybe it’ll change soon?

Todd and CrossedHammers sent in tips about this Ryobi 18V One+ impact driver kit, which was a holiday deal we posted about last year.
Now, the Ryobi impact driver kit is on sale for just $39. Not a bad price for a 1/4″ hex impact driver that’s rated to 1500 in-lbs of max torque.
This is the cheapest entry into Ryobi’s One+ system that I know about right now.

Victor tipped us off about a deal on this Ridgid 18V impact driver.
This impact driver kit was priced at $99 during the holiday season. It seems the price dropped down to $79 at some point. Now, it’s down to $69 $59, through 2/1/2016.
(Thanks to Jeff for mention of the price drop to $59 from $69!)

Chris let us know about the new $139 pricing on this Ridgid 18V BRUSHLESS hammer drill and circular saw combo kit.
The website still says $199, but I saw the same price at my local Home Depot.

Have you seen any other holiday tool clearance deals at your local Home Depot?
There were also some Husky tool deals, and a Crescent imported adjustable wrench set for $10, but I didn’t think those deals were worth more than these few words.
I checked, and there are quite a few of the special Kreg pocket hole kits still sitting in their display. But, the price is the same now as it was 10 weeks ago. Maybe Home Depot will start to discount them in February.
Benjamen
I mentioned it before in the recent Skeletool post comments, but I checked yesterday and they had 2-pack Ryobi 18V Lithium+ Batteries for $79 and whatever Porter Cable nail gun they had in the holiday display (I can’ remember the size) for $79.
Yeah, I’ve been waiting for those Kreg Pocket hole jigs to drop in price too.
Israel David
Thanks!
Jon
FYI, the brushless Ridgid kit now shows $179 on the website.
Ted
When the Ridgid kit first came out in November it was priced at $199.00 but dropped to $179.00 on-line and in stores pretty quickly. While the on-line price has stayed at $179.00 it first dropped to $159.00 in-store then to $149.00 about a month ago. Apparently it is at $139.00 though I haven’t confirmed that myself. I picked one up at $149.00 which in my opinion was a screaming bargain for a brushless hammer drill and circular saw with two batteries, a 2.0A and 4.0A.
Rick
now 129.
Adam D
I wish my HD or any HD within a reasonable radius had this in stock.
Cameron
Finally grabbed a Skeletool. I went to the tool crib first, and found only a single empty package (damn thieves!). But wandering around picking up some other things, I found a hanger with about a dozen of them on a random corner in the lumber section. They were still marked $29.99. They rang up $20.
Andrew L
Still 10 left in my local HD. Not one has sold from three days ago when I was in there based on the inventory sitting on the display.
Miss Franciene
I can dig the husky pliers set deal. I mean, come on seven dollars. For a three pliers set. I’d scoop one up. But my ally is a sheet of ice and my truck is rear wheel drive. I’ll have to walk two miles to get one. So hey why not. I goes to the friggin store and the’re all sold out. So I’ll save me pennies for some Irwins.
Derek
Almost bought the Cresent adjustable wrenches but can’t pull the trigger. Rather buy a nice one (recommendations would be nice) than have 3 junkie ones.
I’ve been debating on picking up the Ryobi impact but they’re all sold out by me. Just as well, already spent $200 today at Home Depot.
Stuart
Even Crescent’s USA-made adjustable wrenches are so-so quality.
I’m a fan of Channellock, which rebrands the best Irega adjustable wrenches, and are made in Spain.
I’ve been meaning to pick up Ridgid adjustables (made by Western Forge) but it just hasn’t been convenient enough yet.
My Proto ones are okay, but I don’t know if I’d go with the Clik Stop again if I could go back in time (https://14cyiuhvcgv.com/proto-clik-stop-adjustable-wrench/%3C/a%3E%29.%3C/p%3E
Milwaukee is coming out with some new ones too: https://14cyiuhvcgv.com/milwaukee-adjustable-wrenches/%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E
Although not very fancy, I’m still a big fan of my Stanley MaxSteel 6″ wrench, mentioned a long time ago here: https://14cyiuhvcgv.com/your-go-to-adjustable-wrench/%3C/a%3E.%3C/p%3E
Jerry
Check out the Craftsman ones. Last time I was in Sears they were stamped Made in USA. The different sizes seemed to be made to different tolerances. A couple sizes had a little more rattle than I liked, but others were tight. I do not know if this variance was from size to size of tool to tool, as I only played with one or two of each size.
Andy
I love Iregas. If I couldn’t get them, I’d look at Bahco.
Rusty
The Stanley locking adjustable wrench is pretty good and only like 11 bucks at Walmart

Remember that for this week (and likely next) those in areas of the country with a Menards can match the 11% rebate at Home Depot. I’ve read folks in other parts of the country have hit and miss results using the rebate, but it’s probably worth the stamp. The rebate also states it’s for in-store purchases but I’ve submitted with online orders in the past and received the rebate with no problems.
Andrew L
I have read that Home Depot is going to stop honoring all competitor coupons. They aren’t even going to match Lowes 5% off when using the HD credit card. They will still price match though.
Jason
I have seen that rumor going through all of the deal websites. Also Lowes locked down merchandise credit. You can only use the card in the store with the same ID on record. I have heard cards getting denied anyways.
Andrew L
The HD cashier did share with me that they would be discontinuing the 5% off using the HD credit card, thus it does appear this is happening.
Michael T
Thank you Stuart. I got the drill set 2606-21ct. It was marked down to $59 from $69.
Mark
Everyone liked the clamps at $25 for Black Friday. They’re down to $15 now. I just picked up a second set.
http://www.homedepot.com/p/BESSEY-Clutch-Clamp-Set-6-Piece-GSCC6PK/205804273
For reference, that’s $2.50 each. That’s cheaper than the HF ones.
http://www.harborfreight.com/6-inch-bar-clamp-96210.html
Which they are vastly superior to.
Miss Franciene
The ones at my store weren’t moving so they knocked them down to 14 bucks. And they still have a few left….. I bought two sets and they a better than hf version by a mile……
Nick
Milwaukee M18 2656-2 was $79.99, I say was because I got the last one!
julian
Makita’s top of the line Brushless HD heammer drill and impact set with the 5.0 batts was $399 reg, then was clearanced for $329 and now is clearanced for $279. That’s not so bad, but until 1/31/16 the $150 discount is active and so I just bought the combo AND the brushless grinder for $$257 after the $150 discount.
The receipt shows the combo was $175 after the discount applied and the grinder $82.
That’s some good bones there!
JT
Andrew L
Clearance in store only?
Jason
Last year had some crazy HD after Christmas deals. The Ryobi batteries were a lot cheaper, but that was because HD ordered so many of them for some reason. I think in general they over ordered the Christmas of 2014
Chris
The Ryobi 2 pack hit a low of $25.02 around mid-February last year.
So far this year they are on the same pricing “track”: down to $79 right now, probably $50-ish by the beginning of Feb, then $25-ish a couple weeks later….just like last year.
Jason
That’s if you can find any by the beginning of February. Maybe few people will luck out on 50 and 25 dollar packs, but it won’t be nearly as a common deal as last year.
Chris
True.
Before it went to “check store for inventory” on the website, one of my local stores was listing 42 packs (!!!). I can see about 10 of them on the shelf right now but I highly doubt they sold 32 of them so they are probably somewhere around the store.
But I do remember last year and couldnt believe how many of those things they had scattered. It felt like someone added an extra zero or two to the “number we should order”
Jeff
The HD in Vernon Hills, IL has the Leatherman Rev for $19.88 (down from $37.97) and the Mini Maglite Pro 2-pk for $20 (down from $24.88). I picked up both; the Rev isn’t quite as nice as the Skeletool, but has more functions, and the Mini Maglites are both ridiculously bright!
Still waiting for the Kreg set to come down in price; they still seem to have plenty in stock everywhere…
Stuart
$20 is a good price for the Rev, but Home Depot brought it out around Black Friday at the $19.88 price.
2 Mini Maglite Pro flashlights for $20? If they’re LED, I’ll have to head to a larger Home Depot to snag a pair for myself!
julian
The Makita brushless combo was on clearance in the store.
FYI – Anytime you see an item you are interested in on clearance at Home Depot – take it to the register – very often it will ring up at a lower clearance price. Always worth a check.

Just bought the Ridgid 18V impact driver for $59.00 shipped free. That is a pretty good deal even if I don’t need one!
Frank D
That impact driver is actually awesome. I have the Milwaukee brushless m18 not the fuel but the compact and I have to say its better than that. I also have the 2656 brushed that HD did the special buy on w/ a battery and charger. I hate to say it I don’t notice too much difference between the 2 m18s. Ridgid has 3 speeds and is extremely ergonomic, I have moved that to my goto and I also have the Bosch Brushless impact driver/wrench, also 3 speeds but not worth the close to 300 I shelled out when it came out.
The Ridgid gen5x even at 100 is actually a great Impact and I have always kinda looked at ridgid as Ryobi with a tux and shiney shoes.
I have to say though after this seasons deals, $200 table saw. Gen5x hammer drill, 7-1/4 circ and The impact, I am coming around. I have even been considering getting the 10in Miter Saw. I really like the bevel functions. I recently picked up the dws709 @ $259 I’m not sure if I am even going to try it out or just flip it. I have wanted the Milwaukee for a while now but everytime CPO has a refurbished for 420ish They sell out in hours. The 12″ Hitachi has also caught my eye and I am still wanting the Bosch Axial Glide either 10 or 12″ I can’t make up my mind and pull the trigger. I’m partial to 10″ just because of the blades I currently own and I am on limited space, with that being said I have had my eyes on the 1016l by makita for a while but mixed reviews have caused issues, Miter Saws have become my hardest purchase to make yet.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated
Bosch Glide 10 or 12″
Milwaukee w/ Digital Read out
Hitachi space saver 12″ slider
Makita 1016 or 1016L dual Rail system
with those choices I can’t really see myself with the DWS709 for the next 4-5 years.
John A.
So tempted to return my Ryobi brad nailer from Xmas ($99) and getting the $272 combo with finish nailer, brad nailer, battery and charger. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Ryobi-18-Volt-ONE-AirStrike-Brad-Nailer-and-Straight-Nailer-Combo-2-Tool-P320-P325-P128/205558928

Just saw that Amazon has posted a great deal on a Makita 18V Cordless combo kit: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00F6J1A4K/
Half price for the circular saw and drill/driver kit.
Pete
That skeletool is on sale and i tried to by 10 for my crew but they had none, so i went to amazon and got the gerber copy for $27. I like the minimalist designs and ease of not needing a holster for it.
Brian
The Dewalt Miter Stand DWX725B has been marked down from $89 to $69 & now $59 in store. Lowest ever on Amazon was $89.
Jared Hardison
I bought 2 of these. They even come with the brackets.
Joe
The white Makita drill & impact 2Ah combo was $129 at my local HD. Currently $179 online.
Juan
Just picked the Ridgid 18V BRUSHLESS hammer drill and circular saw combo kit for $129 at my local HD. yes $129 what a bargain.
julian
FYI – the Makita Brushless 5.0 Hammer/impact combo referenced in my above posts is now clearanced down to $249 at my local home depot, I had just picked it up yesterday for $279 and did a price adjustment and got back $31…
JT
Chris
Is that kit # XT257TB ?
If so, Im wondering if it still triggers the 150 off promo in store……
julian
There’s only one kit with the HD BL hammer and impact AND the 5.0 batts – and that kit triggers the $150 discount until 1/31
JT
William Verdi
looks like HD sold its quota because the Ridgid 18V impact driver. is at $99 when I put it into my checkout
Eric S
Picked up the Rigid 18V impact driver tonight, still $59 in store.
Stuart
Agreed. But, stores will still be trying to get rid of their holiday inventory, and so it still might be $59 or $69 at your local HD.
Benjamen
Yeah, I think it’s up to the individual stores. For instance if you look online the Milwaukee 2606-21CT is still $99, but I bought it for $60 at one of the local stores…At that price my resistance just broke down, I’ll probably end up gifting it to a friend or family member with an extra battery when I get an upgrade.
Travis
The DeWalt 200psi quiet trim compressor (DWFP55130) that was on sale for the Holiday at HD is now marked down to $99. I picked one up last night. The store had 2 more. HD online lists it at $229 while Amazon has it at $199 with great reviews.
Paired with a Lowe’s 10% off coupon and it is a great buy.
Andrew L
Wow. Wish my local HD had them in stock. I did drive out of town and picked one up for $119 around Christmas. Perfect for my needs.
Adam D
The Ryobi Impact kit is now available online for 29.99! I checked my local store with no success earlier this week. Glad they opened up the sale online.
Kevin
I bought the Ridgid Brushless Drill/Circular saw kit a few weeks ago at $149. A couple days ago I picked up the Ridgid 5GenX Impact kit when it was at $59. When I went to the checkout, I asked if they honor competitors coupons and showed them a Harbor Freight 20% off on my phone (doesn’t hurt to ask right?), and they took it! $47.20 for the impact! All 3 tools (2 brushless), 3 batteries, and 2 chargers for $196.
Frank D
Ryobi 18v Impact is 29.00 at my local HD as well as the miter stand. Already bought the miter stand, I know I don’t need another impact but at that price point might as well and it comes w a battery to boot. I’ll probably get the ridgid one too while I’m at it.
Seb
I saw this at the home depot for $350
http://www.homedepot.com/p/DEWALT-20-Volt-MAX-Lithium-Ion-Cordless-Combo-Kit-with-Tough-Case-4-Tool-DCKTS490L2/206367740
Do you consider that a deal?
Stuart
Yes, I think so. Not my top choice of tools, but if that’s what you want, $350 is a good price.
Jonathan
I price matched the Ryobi Mitre Saw stand that I paid $59 in Dec, that is selling for $29 now. Ryobi Stock # RMS10G current price as of this posting.
( I only checked because sears had a Craftsman stand on sale and I had points and coupons, (but still far more expensive).
Frank D
The stand is actually really good, or rather not bad, you can’t beat that price and it’s sturdy. I’m happy with it, I also got a few of the Bluetooth radios with the batteries at 18 each, I bought 4 of them.
Jonathan
Also, YMMV:
but the Black Friday Shelterlogic 7’x7’x7’Shed in a box were selling then for $99 ( I picked one of then then Price matched), they are a one off special for the HD BF event, I found a bunch on clearance in the garden center for $69 ( + less 10% Military disc). ( I did pick up another one at that price).
Normally the 6’x6’x6′ sells for $149 and the 8’x8’x8′ sells for $169.
So an awesome deal, you will not find the 7x’7×7′ listing on line at HD or Shelter logic but the model # is #70475
Jon
The only impact driver I’ve seen that is worse than that Ryobi is the one from Harbor Freight. Ryobi makes an excellent impact (P236), but it is never in the kits. It’s the one with the more stubby nose, chuck that stays out until you put a new bit in, and has 3 LEDs around the chuck. I would estimate it as close to twice the actual torque of the cheap one shown. My brother-in-law went to a jobsite and found that one of his employees had borrowed his toolbox with all his Ridgid tools and hadn’t put it back in the trailer, so he had to buy one for cheap just for that day. Then he brought it when we were doing my sister’s metal roof. It got stuck over and over as we drove the 6″ self-tapping metal-to-wood screws through the metal panels, the rigid insulation, the old shingles, and the timber roof. My P236 kept going all day, easily taking over for the weak Ryobi. But there were a handful that I couldn’t get and my brother’s Milwaukee (non-brushless) 18v made very short work of those.
So, yeah, if you’re looking for a cheap way to get an impact driver for household stuff, grab it. That’s a great price. But if you anticipate any serious driving tasks it won’t be up to the challenge.
