The-Home-Depot-Pro-Xtra-Loyalty-Program-Banner

As mentioned in my recent post about the Home Depot Pro Xtra loyalty program, I am a fan of the program.

The Home Depot Pro Xtra program offers customers a lot of benefits – Pro Xtra perks, paint rewards, a dedicated customer service line, and more. And, it’s all completely FREE to sign up.

Home Depot is sponsoring our Pro Xtra awareness campaign (thank you!), and so I thought it would be nice to hold a reader giveaway!

Home-Depot-Pro-Xtra-Benefits-Banner

Before we get into the giveaway details, the biggest Pro Xtra benefit for me is how it makes my purchases easier to track.

About a year ago, I wanted to return something that I purchased with a gift card, but there was a problem – I lost my receipt, and the store couldn’t process my return without it.

Now, I have a new gift card to spend – thank you Home Depot! – and I was able to add it to my Pro Xtra account.

So, if I buy something with the gift card now, it’s logged to my account, making returns or customer service requests easier. This also helps me out when it’s time to go over my business expenses every quarter.

It might seem minor, but having all of my purchases in one place is a great convenience.

I have some shopping to do this weekend – I have a gift card in one hand, and a Pro Xtra coupon offer in the other. (The coupon offer is part of the “personalized offers” perk.)

There are a couple of tools that I’ve been looking to buy, and I have a growing list of supplies and accessories I need to pick up for spring 2022 projects.

My coupon offer is for $20 off $200. I wasn’t able to take advantage of the last offer, or the $15 off $150 before that, but $20 off tools I was planning to buy anyway will mean $20 extra I can spend on more tools and supplies.

The Pro Xtra program has been great for me over the years.

I would really like the benefit of being able to track my orders better and have a dedicated helpline. I ordered an impact wrench from home Depot last summer. Could not get a hold of anyone to find out when my package was going to show up. Two months later it canceled and had no way figuring out why. So I could not get the sale item. Having a dedicate line I think would really help out to fix that.

I’ve had good success with their customer support – not sure if it’s actually dedicated to the Pro Xtra members or not, but they’ve always been very helpful and friendly. I’d use the gift card simply to offset the higher prices these days on everything!

I’m not entering the drawing, but I have to say that the best feature of Pro Xtra for me is that since our spend is high enough, I get a discount on darned near everything in the store. You can’t complain about that.

The online deals/discounts are generally way better than in store offerings anyway – except some of the in-store-only holiday buys. Almost anything stocked in-store is available online to be delivered. Not everything, but almost.

I would often window shop while grabbing supplies or something needed same day, but wait for the deal of the day or just get bare tool + free stuff (battery commonly) online for the exact price of the bare tool in store.

I randomly throw an old bosses phone number in for the purchase dollars towards their pro xtras. Half because I’m a nice guy and half as a force of habit

Tracking paint colors is an excellent perk of pro extra. It will make it super handy if in the future I run into a situation like I have now, where I repainted 7 years ago, and now have to repair a hole in the drywall and have no clue what paint color I have and will have to rely and hope that a color match works. If I win the gift card wit will go towards thinset and other tiling items, as I just bought the tile to redo my house but have not bought any of the other necessities for laying it yet.

The previous order tracking seems like a really helpful benefit. As you mentioned, things get tricky when purchases are made with gift cards and credits- this sounds smart. It would be really nice to have a simpler way to find purchases (I, too, rarely save receipts unless it’s for a big purchase).

Thanks for the opportunity to win! The idea of digital receipts and order tracking is pretty appealing, since it’d be helpful to complement my photo and serial number inventory of my cordless tools. Any purchases I made through Home Depot would be available, and if I needed to reference those for any reason, not trying to find a paper receipt would be very helpful. If I won, I’d help out some coworkers who could use some tools but are in tighter financial situations. I’d probably let my Dad pick out some stuff in store as well. I’ve been a Pro Xtra member for years, and for me the biggest perk is purchase tracking and ease of returns. I often buy more materials than I need for a job so I don’t get caught short while working, and return the excess the first time I’m at the store after competing a job – and I NEVER need a receipt. The next best perk is emailed receipts, which I usually receive before I even get to my car. This is a great convenience when reconciling credit card statements.

What would I spend a $100 gift card on? Probably a 2nd Milwaukee M18 Rover light – something I could live without, but still benefit from.

I think the paint rewards and lifetime color history is pretty cool. It would make it easier than keeping track of lids or pictures of paint cans. With that being said, I’m not a pro making business transactions. Just a guy collecting tools and doing projects. Lowes occasionally sends me emails about signing up for their pro program, but there hasn’t been a “I’m not a professional” option to click, so it’s just another email to delete. Anyway I am a fan of how in store purchases also show up online in your account, and not just online orders, however it only seems to be with a credit card associated with your account, all I’m missing is I’d like a way to have also cash purchases show up, like at the register you can put in your username, or maybe be able to retroactively add a receipt to your account. I don’t have to enter my email or scan anything, if I use my card tied to my account, it just shows up on its own.

If I win a gift card, I will be putting it towards a Dewalt ToughSystem Garage Rack and some of the ToughCase Bit sets.

Of the Xtra rewards I just signed up when the other article posted – so Feburary I think. What I like is the perks an coupons – haven’t spent enough yet to really get anything but the ability is there. the personalized offers is why I signed up really so hope that works out for me. and Purchase Tracking is the nice bit that will come in handy later.

I will say I see appeal to the paint history tracking, but I’ll not use it most likely – only becasue I buy nearlly all of my paint from Sherwin Williams and they’ve done the same thing for years. Its a great feature. 8 years later – gee what did I paint that dresser for kiddo 1 – oh it’s everland white. K I want another quart of that.

Meanwhile if I get the gift card I might well buy the Dewalt DCF 921 impact wrench – never got one earlier and will need it soon. or I might buy some wire crimper tool, and maybe some romex and ect for a new lightling project in the house – install 4 can lights in the main living room.

Thank you again for doing this.

As a long time ProX user, I have greatly appreciated the purchase history feature, eliminating the need to keep receipts. Also, the Perks, which are essentially free money for reaching spend milestones, are a great way to reward oneself with new tools for all the hard work! Fantastic program!
As for what I would do with the $100 GC… probably get a sheet of plywood and a drink! 😂

While reading all of the comments about purchase tracking, I wondered what I had that others didn’t from that perspective – my HD app has all of my purchases made in store and online, but maybe not gift card purchases which never crossed my mind. I’m now realizing this may be because I use the same credit card for all HD purchases through both methods, and my account is probably linked with the card. This is a cool feature that I do really enjoy. And who doesn’t love coupons…

As for what I would use the gift card on, probably to rent a ditch witch and buy some tubing – this place needs drainage. And then basement sealant. Certainly wouldn’t use it on plywood!

Now that home depot is more strict about receipts on returns, I have my credit cards linked to my pro extra. No need to scan my qr code or save receipts. I just give my amount at the return desk and it all gets looked up regardless of card used to purchase.

I’ll check if it’s rolled out in Canada as well. I need several things, and delivery would help these days. The tracking features sound magnificent, and a great deal better than what the regular tracking is.

What would I buy, if I even qualified? ToughBuilt C700’s… Maybe a nicer toilet seat, and the Klein RT250? Supplies and such really.

But that’s all hypothetical. Canadians don’t qualify, so this is just a post for fun!

    Point of feedback:
So, I decided to join HD PRO. There was an offer for $10 off $100 when you join. Received the coupon yesterday, saw it come in on my email, looked at it. It was valid until 04/03 (today). Figured I would print it today and go purchase some lumber.
Today it says it has expired.
If the coupon has been viewed three times it expires?! W T F.
So between it coming in my mail on my phone and pulling it up on my computer it nuked itself? Who in the world does that???
Try to contact pro support … there is none.
Only Pro Extra gets support support.
Oh and Pro Extra perks requires signing up for and payment purchases using a Home Depot Credit card.
… once again HD at its finest. Here’s your sign up coupon. Unreal.

Coupons do have a view limit. I save them as PDF if needed, or print them out immediately. I assume this is to combat fraud or code-guessing efforts. Contact them and ask for a reissue if possible, same-day expiration is unusual. I’ve never had this happen to me.

Pro Xtra is free, and you get the pro support. There’s no separate Pro program that I know of.

Pro Xtra does NOT require signing up for a credit card.

You get Pro Xtra perks/reward points with your purchases. That’s the free member program. You get more points if you sign up for and use their credit card. I don’t have the credit card, and didn’t mention it in any post, because I see that as a separate thing.
