Home Depot Tool Deals of the Day for 10-17-2024

The Holiday shopping season isn’t quite here yet, but apparently Home Depot didn’t get the memo. Today’s tool deals of the day look to be quite good, featuring a mix of new, popular, and returning promos.

Home Depot’s tool deals heavily feature Milwaukee and Ryobi, and there are notable deals by Dewalt and other brands such as Ridgid and Husky.

The following deals stood out to me. As usual, I recommend that you take a quick look through the full deals page.

Milwaukee M12 Fuel Hammer Drill and Impact Driver Kit with Rover LED Light

Milwaukee M12 Fuel Hammer Drill and Impact Driver Kit with Rover LED Light – $199

There are bound to be more deals on this M12 Fuel 2pc combo kit. But if you need it now, the price is decent and the Rover light a bright bonus.

Milwaukee M12 Fuel Cordless Jig Saw with XC 4Ah Battery

Milwaukee M12 Fuel Cordless Jig Saw with XC 4Ah Battery – $150

The jig saw sells for $169 by itself. I’m seeing it as low as $138 by itself right now (via Acme Tools), but $150 for the tool and a battery seems like a good deal.

If you don’t need the battery, use coupon TOOLGUYD at Acme ($10 off $79+, single use per customer and recycles every 30 days).

Milwaukee M18 Fuel Deep Cut Cordless Band Saw with 8Ah High Output Battery

Milwaukee M18 Fuel Deep Cut Cordless Band Saw with 8Ah High Output Battery – $309

The “regular” price has been $379 for the tool plus a free tool or battery.

Dewalt 20V Max 6pc Cordless Power Tool Combo Kit with ToughSystem Rolling Tool Box DCKTS681D1P1

Dewalt 20V Max 6pc Cordless Power Tool Combo Kit with ToughSystem Rolling Tool Box DCKTS681D1P1 – $499

This could be a good combo kit to get started with, if the tools line up with your needs.

Milwaukee M18 Fuel Cordless Dual Action Polisher with High Output 8Ah Battery

Milwaukee M18 Fuel Cordless Dual Action Polisher with High Output 8Ah Battery – $279

The DA polisher features a 6″ pad and 2400 to 4500 RPM speed range. It looks like the “tool with free battery” promo price has been $329, the same as for the bare tool, implying that this deal saves you an extra $50.

Ryobi 18V Cordless Oscillating Multi-Tool Kit with 22pc Accessory Set

Ryobi 18V Cordless Oscillating Multi-Tool Kit with 22pc Accessory Set – $138.97

This is an example of why it’s necessary to scrutinize bundle deals. You get a $99 OMT kit plus a $40 accessory set for $139. Shop carefully, folks!

Dewalt DWE7485 Jobsite Table Saw with Folding Stand

Dewalt DWE7485 Jobsite Table Saw with Folding Stand – $299

This is always a good buy for a popular compact table saw.

Dewalt DW735X Thickness Planer with Accessssory Set with Mobile Stand

Dewalt DW735X Thickness Planer with Accessssory Set with Mobile Stand – $649

Normally you have to wait for Black Friday to see deals on the Dewalt planer bundle. We’ve seen the same offer recently, and I’m mentioning it again in case anyone missed those promos and have been waiting for a holiday deal.

Ryobi 18V Power Station Battery Inverter Generator with Solar Panel

Ryobi 18V Power Station Battery Inverter Generator with Solar Panel – $749

This fits 8 Ryobi 18V batteries – stick with higher charge capacities – to deliver up to 1800 running watts of AC power. Ryobi says it works with as little as one 18V battery to power devices up to 450W, and max 1800W power requires four 18V batteries. Connecting 8 gives you max power and longest runtime.

It comes bundled with a solar panel charger.

Milwaukee Packout Flood Light and USB Charger with M12 4Ah Battery

Milwaukee Packout Flood Light and USB Charger with M12 4Ah Battery – $119

This is both a relatively compact Packout-compatible LED flood light and USB device charger. The light is regularly priced at $129 by itself. Home Depot has a separate light plus 4Ah battery bundle for $129, and so you’re saving an extra $10 here.

Milwaukee SAE and Metric Half Inch Mechanics Tool Set with Packout Case 48-22-9487

Milwaukee SAE and Metric 1/2-inch Mechanics Tool Set with Packout Case 48-22-9487 – $229

I am a big fan of Milwaukee mechanics tools, and their Packout cases add a layer of convenience. This set is regularly $320, but I’m seeing it priced on sale for $259 at a couple of authorized dealers right now. The deal of the day appears to save you an extra $30.

Dewalt DW1369 29pc Pilot Point TiN Coated Drill Bit Set

Dewalt DW1369 29pc Pilot Point TiN Coated Drill Bit Set – $59.97

I’m also a big fan of Dewalt Pilot Point drill bits. I’ve owned a similar set for years, and it comes in handy. I consider these to be a step up from general purpose construction drill bits, and down from industrial brands.

Ryobi 18V HP Brushless Chainsaw Kit with Accessories

Ryobi 18V HP Brushless Chainsaw Kit with Accessories – $219

It’s fall cleanup season – this looks to be a good deal if you need a cordless 12″ chainsaw.

Stiletto Titanium Hammer TI14MC

Stiletto Titanium Hammer TI14MC (Milled Face) – $59

I posted about the Stiletto deal separately, but it’s good enough to warrant a repeat mention.

These deals end at 3am ET 10/18/24 unless supplies sell out sooner.

That Ryobi power station is such a stinker. You can get a complete Ecoflow or Jackery or Bluetti, with more power for less money, using the longer-lasting LFP chemistry, and that’s a whole station compared to Ryobi’s BARE TOOL. Once you add the batteries it’s like 4x the cost and still worse. It doesn’t even charge all ports simultaneously, it doesn’t do AC passthrough, it doesn’t pair with their bluetooth-enabled gasoline generators to enable hybrid operation…

Especially in a power outage after a storm, I probably want my chainsaws and fans and stuff, so those batteries are busy. Having them locked up running the fridge for not very long just seems silly.

Bummer to see Ryobi overcharging for a less-featured product.

I hear ya — folks gotta shop around. Buyer beware.

There’s some real benefit to these power station systems, and you’re absolutely right — those batteries are *gold* during an emergency situation.

Nate’s analysis above also holds for the Milwaukee M18 equivalent—given the combative costs even if you already own a bunch of appropriate batteries, it is really only edge cases where an 18-volt power pack beats spending that money on a stand alone power station. (Milwaukee’s larger MX-system is a completely different beast, and makes much more sense for this application if you have already bought-in).

The only caveats I would add would be durability (not currently an emphasis from the more tech centric brands), and maybe OSHA safety ratings.

Sure but don’t forget it is also an 8 battery charger that can charge via solar. So once those batteries are used up running your chainsaws and fans, you can recharge them.

I agree there are better ways to run your fridge, a/c, or modem. But this will do both.

We got a an ecoflow setup on sale for about half the price. The Rypbi power cooler is also not as good as similar powered coolers/camping fridges for the price.

Side note… Less than a week ago, I scored a Dewalt 20v 12” Chainsaw at Home Depot for $89 (tool only). That was close to half off. I saw the deal on Slickdeals. I went to HomeDepot.com and ordered it….sure enough for $89. Two hours later I got an email saying they canceled my order…..due to none in stock. I called the exact store where I was supposed to pick it up from and they said they had one, so I got lucky. Long story short, I believe the chainsaw is still this price but you’ll probably need to call or visit your local store to get one. Good luck. I tried it out on a tree that fell in my yard. It works great. I wouldn’t say it cuts as fast as my Milwaukee 16” 18v, but still impressive .

That’s a good deal on a handy saw. I put a 14″ narrow kerf bar on mine and I wouldn’t call it a screamer, but it makes short work of 80% of everything I need to cut. Nothing wrong with that 12″ bar but the 14″ adds some capability and it never feels underpowered.

I love this saw. I am no lumberjack but this does most of what I need. Have not fired up my Stihl since I bought it.

I love my Dewalt 12” 20V chainsaw. I’d like it better if I could make it stop leaking oil. I’ve watched many YouTube videos and I have reduced the leaking by using the flexible gasket sealing materials, but it still leaks some.

Ron, thank you so much for this information. I looked in the Home Depot app and it showed that one store near me had limited stock and wouldn’t show the price. I decided to drop by since it was on my way home. I got there and I was shocked to see the tool only price of $89 (which is unusual for it to be the same as the mainland since I live in Hawaii and the prices are often higher here). There were nine in the bay but I asked an employee to help me and he showed 1 in stock. After looking around he said it looks like it got moved to the clearance end cap so we walked over there and sure enough, there was exactly one Dewalt 12” 20V chainsaw which I promptly bought. Know they must be coming out with a newer one to be selling them at such a low price but I’m happy to have this as a spare. Thanks again for posting that you recently got one at this price.

Awesome that you were able to get one at the clearance price, especially in Hawaii. I miss it there like crazy. I lived on Oahu for 3 years and Kauai for 1 year. I moved there right after high school….for an adventure…..and that it was!

My apologies for the off-topic post but as the Toolguyd forum seems to be gone I had no better place to put this, and I think people will be excited:

Knipex TwinGrips are now available in two new sizes: 150mm (6in) and 250mm (10in)

I bought it back when it came out. I already have a nice bosch corded jigsaw, but wanted something smaller for most of the jigsaw work I do (sheet goods, 3/4″ hardwoods). The M12 fuel gets probably 95+% of the usage. It’s an amazing little saw. I use CP 3.0 batteries with it to keep the size and weight as compact as possible.

I love the jigsaw even though the on/off isn’t that convenient for my mostly left handed use or when using it upside down.
It just feels great, easy to follow a line and works fine with regular batteries. More grunt with the HO battery, but more than good enough with regular. My M18 has not been used since I got the m12 fuel.

Finally, after trying 2 Festool barrel grip versions, a cordless Makita, the higher end Bosch plug in, a 20v Dewalt barrel grip saw, finally, a perfect coping jigsaw.
