Somehow I missed it, but Amazon has a deal of the day, Thursday 8/9/2018, where you can snag your very own Bosch 12V Max brushless drill/driver kit for just $85.

I had been meaning to fulfill our recent giveaway next week, but at this price I picked another winner and sent a kit to both.

This is a fantastic compact cordless drill! Here’s my pseudo love letter.

Price: $85

Buy Now(via Amazon)

Deal ends at 3am ET 8/10/2018, unless supplies sell out sooner.

Thank you to Ryan and Evadman for the heads-up!

I did indeed love my 12v bosch dill when i had one. The chuck felt nice and tight even though it was plastic.

Thank you Stuart for passing this along. I just hit the order button. Amazon even threw in free one day shipping. Yay!

I have been wanrting to get into the Bosch 10.8/12 violt line for a coulpe of years. I was trying to hold out for a brushless deal on either the PS32 or 22. The 32 will probably be more versatile for me. Bosch’s 12 volt grip fits my hand like no other. Like it was fit to it really.

I nearly pulled the trigger a month or so ago when Menard’s had the brushed combo kit with PS21&31 for 99.99. I held back because…well I really didn’t need it. No holding back today. I still don’t really need it but I want it! Now I hace a built in excuse to pop for some of those cool tools you can only seem to find in Europe. I mean, I will have the batteries, right? Even my wife should understand this…

Why do I get this offer at 10:03Am on Aug 10 when the deal expired at 3:00AM ONTHE 10TH? It expired before I got notice of the deal.

Because auto-emails are sent out at 11am ET. The post was published after 11am ET, and so it rolled into today’s email. I couldn’t add “Expired” to the title ahead of time, and even if I did, it might not have updated to the RSS feed that the emails source from.

But, that’s also why the date is in the headline.

In other words, there’s nothing I could have done. I didn’t see the deal first thing in the morning when I checked, and reader tips didn’t come in until the afternoon.

I’m aware of the frustration that occurs when this happens, and do try to post about deals of the day before the newsletter goes out, but it’s sometimes completely unavoidable.

      Thank you!

Trust me, I understand the frustration, and I take whatever precautions I can to avoid exactly what happened.

Gents, just in case you hadn’t seen this, Bosch is officially converting all of their 10.8v line to 12v nomenclature and new model numbers starting back in January, 2017. Here is a link to their page listing the old and new model numbers.

    https://www.bosch-professional.com/gb/en/service/news/changeover-from-10.8v-to-12v/

I had not seen this so Stuart or Ben if this is old news around here, just delete this post.

I was aware of this, but it seemed to have been an EU-only move, since they changed from 10.8V to 12V Max years ago in the USA.

It’s confusing because the new EU branding seems to be 12V, and not 12V Max as in the USA, and I received a mixed response as to what I should use when discussing the tools.

You know, I love Bosch tools. I have the 1587 jigsaw and wouldn’t trade it. The little PS32 was delivered this afternoon and I was not disapponted.

I have always had good luck with them. But like many European companies, they work on EST or, European Standard Time as I like to call it. There is no telling what, where, when, how they will do or announce something. And the bewildering choice to not to import a lot of the 12v line to the States is beyond me. I didn’t even pick up the subtle difference between 12v and 12v max til you mentioned it.

I was putting together IKEA furniture yesterday with my 18V Bosch drill and the bulky 4.0 Ah battery. The adjustable clutch is great for this kind of work, but the full size drill body with the fat battery was overkill. A lighter, smaller 12V would have been perfect.
