I was looking for reference pricing on Amazon, for my Bosch FREAK impact driver-wrench deal post, when I noticed something unusual about the Bosch 18V cordless drill/driver and FREAK impact driver combo kit deal.
Right now, there are two Bosch promos at Amazon:

Save $20 off $100+ select tool and accessory orders (expires 11:59pm PT 11/15/2018)
Save $30 off $149+ select tool and accessory orders (expires 11:59pm PT 12/30/2018)
And, there are some products that are on BOTH lists, leading to double discounts.
I don’t know if it’s intentional or some kind of programming mistake (which seems unlikely to me). What I do know is that this is resulting in some very good discounts – essentially $50 off $149+, if you select the perfect combination of eligible tools.
For instance, the Bosch cordless drill and FREAK impact tool, listed at $149, is eligible for either/both discount, and so it ends up being $99 at checkout. (I’m guessing this crazy-good discount is why it’s backordered at the moment.)

Or, consider the PS22 brushless screwdriver kit and 12V Max LED worklight. They come out to be $158.99 before, and $108.99 after dual discounts.
There are other tools eligible for both deals – the 12V Max reciprocating saw, 18V brushless drill/driver kit, PS21 cordless screwdriver, 12V Max battery pack, 12V Max oscillating multi-tool.
The way the double discount works is pretty straightforward. If you have $149+ of items eligible for both promos, you save $20 and $30, for $50 total savings.
But, not everything needs to be eligible for both promos to get both promos. Let’s say an item is eligible for both promos and is priced over $100, say $130, making it automatically eligible for the $20 off $100+ promo, but not the $30 off $149+ deal. You then only need a $19+ item that’s eligible for the $30 off $149+ promo to get both discounts. Select “sort by price, low to high,” and there is no shortage of power tool accessories or tools that can help push your over the higher order total threshold.
Here are the deal pages:
Save $20 off $100+ select tool and accessory orders (expires 11:59pm PT 11/15/2018)
Save $30 off $149+ select tool and accessory orders (expires 11:59pm PT 12/30/2018)

That’s pretty nifty. Maybe it’s time to try out some of the Bosch 12V tools.
Eric
I did the PS22 kit and the OMT, and somehow ended up with $40 off plus $30 off. I am very happy, thank you so much for this post!
Stuart
I see that too – $70 off both tools.
Eric
This will be my first dip into a 12v platform. The PS22 really is not duplicated by my DeWalt 20v/Flexvolt home system (which is now complented by Ryobi One+).
That and the small size/weight of the OMT convinced me to give it a try.
After learning about the ease of ordering from Amazon.de from this site, I am looking forward to adding some Bosch 12v tools since I already ordered half of the Wera catalog.

Gedore is another brand I like ordering from amazon.de, they have some great stuff (I like the no 7 wrenches, and their 1/4″ T-handle ratchet), along with knipex, and NWS if you can find it. And got all my Wera from there like you did. Had to order the advent calendar from KC Tool though so I could get a new Wera print catalog…
Felo is also sometimes a good bit cheaper from amazon.de. Wiha is hit or miss on whether I can even find it there, or if it’s cheaper. I’m about to get the Wiha precision screwdriver set for a gift, and it’s cheaper to get it here from KC Tool than it is on any amazon. Plus the toolguyd coupon code tips the scales further.

Go over $200 with one tool and it also works still. It seems to employ rounding as well, so the DDS181A-01 brushed drill with 2x 4Ah batteries winds up being $130 (Unfortunately the DDS183-02 brushless drill doesn’t make the rounding cutoff). That DDS181A might actually be kind of the star of the sale in my opinion, for $40 more than a holiday special (albeit brushed instead of brushless), you get 2 batteries instead of 1, and double the capacity on each battery.
If you really want brushless, the HDS183-02 hammer drill with 2x 2Ah batteries works for the deal, and drops down to $149.

I wish Bosch did a 12v leaf blower. That plus the light and drill would be perfect for my camping kit!
Tim E.
I don’t know anybody that makes a 12V blower, or high volume inflator or similar. The only 12V class one I can think of is the upcoming LC09Z from makita, which has a blower function.
Ben
Thanks, my guess is there’s a valid reason. That said my 20V Dewalt is phenomenal, I would be happy with 60% of that power.

Must be nice to not have tax…
If you can get tools that qualify for the 20 off 100, they stack multiple like Eric says. So if you can hit $200 of tools that are applicable to both promotions, you’ll get 20 plus another 20 plus the 30. So like the PS22 and the right angle drill PS11BN comes out to 146.98 for me, before tax. Almost as good, if you need 18V batteries, get two of the 6Ah fatpacks, and your total comes out to $143.42. $72 per 6Ah battery, not bad if I needed more of them.
Unfortunately I mainly wanted the blaze pro and the 3 gal vacuum, neither of which qualify for both, but still wound up making 2 orders and saving $100 total, would have been the same as if I got the blaze and vac together with just $30 off, then the other stuff with $70 off. Got the PS21 since I like my PS31 so much, the led worklight, and the 18V starter kit with 2x 2Ah batteries (since getting the extra charger wasn’t much more than plain 2x 2Ah batteries, and I only have one 18V bosch charger around).
Stuart
I created a fake shipping address in a no-sales-tax state for the sake of taking a screen capture.
Tim E.
Awww. Oh well. I always have to remember to take that into account when looking at the discount, versus somewhere like Acme where I don’t have to pay tax. Both of my orders sat around 24% off, but after taking tax into account, they wind up only being about 18% off. But Amazon I get 5% back, so that bumps it back up into being better than an Acme 20% off coupon. Plus less rare.

Not sure if it’s on the list, but I’d strongly recommend the 18v jigsaw over the 12v. The 12v is on at least one of them. I’ve never been happy with the 12v jigsaw though I’m generally very happy with any Bosch tools that I’ve owned. The 12v does not have a fan to clear the dust, so you can’t see the cut line as you cut. I broke down and got the 18v and it’s a great saw, just like the other Bosch tools, corded and cordless that I own.

Today – 11/5 – Acme is doing a $50 off on $200 or more Bosch tools – with Code “BOSCH1DAY”

Nice catch!
I did the ps32BN, the 12v dustbuster, and the LED light. Discounts came out to 20$,20$, and 30$!
Russ
Don’t forget about the newer 12-volt batteries: GBA12V30 and GBA12V60.
Both appear to be eligible for the $30 off $149+ promotion.
Jerrick
Looks like Amazon caught the dual promotion glitch. I’m only seeing one promotion applicable to the tools now instead of two.
Peter
Same here, $30 promo is expiered it says.
