Earlier this week, we posted about the new Dewalt brushless circular saw, DCS565, and upgrade to their venerable 20V Max brushed motor model.
We also posted about the upcoming Home Depot Black Friday 2020 tool deals, which are set to kick off next week.

It has come to our attention, that this new Dewalt brushless 6-1/2″ cordless circular saw is included in Home Depot’s “buy a 20V Max starter kit, get a free tool” promo.
This saw is so new that Dewalt and Home Depot used an image of the previous saw in the marketing images, but the model number DCS565BDCB246CK and description clearly show that it features the new brushless model.
Buy a 6Ah and 4Ah starter kit for $199, and get the saw for free. Is this a good deal? Well, consider for a moment the price of just two components of this bundle.
The new circular saw is priced at $169. The 6.0Ah battery is priced at $99 via Amazon, or $129 from authorized dealers.
So… yes, this is a very good deal!

Keep an eye out for it, Home Depot’s Black Friday 2020 sales flyer pricing goes into effect 11/8/2020.

The charger is also the new DCB1106 6A charger, not the DCB115 4A charger in the picture.
Big Richard
And I believe it is the DCB240 slim 1p 4Ah battery, not the DCB204 2p 4Ah pack pictured.

Huh didn’t even know they had compact 4ah packs. Good deal if you need a saw.
Steve G
Yep. Too bad I’ve got too many saw already.
Mike
Out of stock?
Big Richard
For now, the deal runs through 01Feb2021, so I think they will be getting more in stock between now and then. They also may not truly be out of stock, it’s possible they just are holding the stock until November, when the current “Buy More Save More” DeWalt deal ends.
Mike
Saw was priced at 159 as a special buy too.
Also noticed their website last two days has been a pain to navigate, it will keep selecting items when scrolling , tried on multiple browsers, same thing happens. I am guessing they did something on the back end for the shopping season , but its almost unbearable
Big Richard
Yeh, I’ve had multiple items change price/availability and pages disappearing over the past couple days. At this point I am just waiting until next week, assuming it will be ironed out by then.

I’m on it like stink on a pig!

I think you will be very happy with it. May need a new/better blade though.

Over the years, I’ve found that many (probably most) saws – including table saws and miter saws come with mediocre blades. I guess that has the benefit of keeping the price low while still selling a tool that is ready to go to work. It is perhaps less of an issue with circular saws aimed at general construction – where you might get a so-so general-purpose blade – but miter saws often also seem to come with blades better suited for cutting construction lumber than trim.
Koko The Talking Ape
Cheap blades make the tool cheaper, sure, but they also hurt the tool’s performance. If they put some effort into making the tool precise and sturdy, you’d think they’d include a blade that can take advantage of that. If a blade performs poorly, people might blame the tool.
Anyway, I’m probably going to get some Diablo finish blades. 🙂
Adam
This has certainly been my experience. The only exception I can think of are the Skilsaw wormdrive tablesaws, which come with Diablo blades on a few models.
Paul
Is this only online, in store, or both?
Big Richard
Both
John
Sure wish Milwaukee would add a saw to their “free” tool list. Or a nail gun – can never have too many of those.
Koko The Talking Ape
It’s 11/8 at 4:00 PM MT, and it’s still listed as “Out of stock” (and since the saw has not been sold at all yet, I assume that status is a placeholder until the sale actually starts.)
Ooo! I’m so impatient!!

No need to wait, I just found the following link which allows you to pick one of a dozen tools (including the brushless saw) as your free tool and then order everything.
https://www.homedepot.com/p/DEWALT-20-Volt-MAX-XR-Lithium-Ion-Starter-Kit-with-1-6-0Ah-Battery-1-4-0Ah-Battery-Charger-and-Kit-Bag-DCB246CK/313759426
You will see on the right hand side of the page where you can click to pick your free tool!
Stuart
Not for me – I don’t see the circular saw in that list anywhere. But thank you for the link – I’ll add it in!
innsxtc
That’s odd. For me there is a link that says: Choose Your Free Product (12 items) with the “12 items” in blue.
When I click the blue link, it brings up a list of 12 Dewalt 20v cordless items including:
handheld blower
circular saw (the one in this post)
compact task light
compact impact wrench
grinder
reciprocating saw
drywall screw gun
jigsaw
router
random orbital sander
oscillating tool
5.0Ah battery
I wonder if they are location specific perhaps? So sorry it didn’t work for you!
Stuart
Could be, which is why I added your link to the post just in case.
From your list, these are the items that are not included in the list I see on the product page:
circular saw
compact impact wrench
router
When I look at the router product page, it’s only in stock for store pickup. Maybe that’s it? And the circular saw too – only available for pickup or express (paid) delivery.
innsxtc
Interesting. When I ordered the circular saw, it was only available for in-store pickup for me and the battery kit was available for shipping. I guess I have no idea what determines the tools in the list. Home Depot must have some fancy algorithm they’re using 🙂
