Dremel Cyber Monday 2018 Tool Bundle

Dremel rotary tools have always been popular, but I’ve seen them being used more on more.

This Cyber Monday deal features a 4000-series rotary tool kit, which has a separate price of $71, an all-purpose accessory set that has a separate price of $24, and a flex-shaft accessory, which retailers for $25.

So, with this deal, you get a ~$120 bundle for $70.

Bundle Price: $70

Buy Now(via Amazon)

In recent years, Dremel stopped bundling the flex-shaft accessory in all but the most premium rotary tool kits, presumably to keep kit pricing low, but it’s an indispensable accessory that gives you more control and precision (should you want or need it).

Dremel rotary tools are more DIY-focused, but I’ve seen them in professional and even industrial settings, and I’ve seen YouTubers using them as well, for cleaning up 3D-printed and CNC-cut parts.

You get a useful assortment of accessories and attachments with this bundle, and the pricing is hard to argue with. It doesn’t include some other accessories that some users might want, but it looks like all the most popular ones are there.

The deal ends at 3am ET 11/27/2018, unless supplies sell out sooner.

Update: Lowes’ Black Friday Dremel 3000 kit is still ongoing. That set comes with a 3000 series rotary tool (a little smaller and lower powered), and flex-shaft tool, and is priced at $49.

I already picked up the Lowe’s deal on the 3000 model. I mostly plan on using the flex shaft attachment anyway, so is there any benefit to spending the extra $20 other than the additional accessories? Is there anything the 4000 model can do that the 3000 can’t?

I’m curious about this too, as I also did the same thing at Lowe’s. I used the 4300 at work and rarely used it fill speed.

The 4000 series is more powerful and a little faster, the 3000 series is more compact.

This kit is the better buy for what it includes (in my opinion), but the 3000 is probably a better starter tool (based on a value standpoint).

If both kits had the same tool, I’d say that this one’s the better buy, because the $20 price difference gives you more than $20 in extra attachments and accessories.

BUT, if you can’t use the extra kit contents, the Dremel 3000 kit leaves $20 in your pocket for use on accessories you can.

This isn’t a very helpful answer – sorry! – but the kits are too different to effectively compare them.

Some people burn up Dremel rotary tools, but most don’t approach their max power.

I really don’t know which way to steer you. If in your shoes, I would probably be content with the already-purchased 3000 series bundle. But if you didn’t buy that set yet, I’d say that this one is a better bargain, unless you wanted the smaller tool.

Do you want the guard attachment more (included in the Lowes kit, currently $15 separately), or the edge and circle cutting guide (included in this kit, currently $10 separately)?

This set gets you started with EZ Lock accessories. Separately, the mandrel is $9, and accessory packs more.

The 4000 series has a speed maintenance circuit (Electronic Feedback Control) that kicks in at low to medium RPM to counteract loading. This feature keeps my Dremel run smoother when working at low RPMs (which I do when working with plastics)

The Dremel 4000-6/50, which I think is a better deal, was on sale for $79 this morning. I wanted to get a second one, but I just clicked on it and its back to full price. I hope the price drops again.

The 4000 series is better overall, with more power, and if you’re only using the flex shaft the larger size of the tool doesn’t matter much. The auto speed control mentioned above really gives better control/performance vs. having to manually adjust the 3000 series.

The 3000 series is an older model, and, as mentioned, it is more compact, so if you were using the tool without the flex shaft, it may fit in spots the 4000 series won’t, or might fit in the hand better.

Depending how much you use the tools, it’s really not a bad idea to have more than one. Sometimes this makes work go a lot faster if you have two attachments or tools on each one, and can use one and switch to the other rather than constantly changing the tools on only one.

The Dremel 3000/4000 sets go on sale every Black Friday and a few more times during the year, so if you don’t hop on a deal for the 4000 now and decide later you want one, you’ll still be able to get a deal down the road.

That is incorrect, the 3000 tool is newer.

Hm, must have had it backwards. I was pretty sure the 4000 was newer, plus it’s weird to make a newer model with a lower number.

Your logic and reasoning was spot-on.

I think they’re going for a “good, better, best” tier system, similar to how Kobalt tool boxes were labeled by a tiered series. Or cameras. Canon 1D is higher than 5D, which is higher than 7D. That allows for individual updates over time.

Dremel has since come out with 4200 and 4300 tools, which maintain relative positioning against each other and the 3000 series.

I guess the numbering is more about where the tool fits in their lineup relative to the features it has. The 3000 series is lower in terms of size and features to the 4000. It has a place for those who want a smaller variable speed tool and don’t want/need the power or features in the 4000.

I passed on the 4200/4300 models even when they were discounted in previous years, in favor of the 4000 kit. It was a much better deal and really, all I wanted was a rotary tool with enough power and variable speed that fits all dremel tools. The 4000 with the flex shaft attachment is it. I might eventually get the 3000 if I ever need to use the tool by itself and need something smaller.

This is a pretty good deal, but I like their other 4000 series set that includes more of the attachments for the tool rather than the tool kit and flex shaft, though the pricing might be close either way, buying the extra attachments for this kit or the flex shaft for the other.

Even the amazon pop up here says $70 but on amazon it goes to $120 something.
