We’re a bit surprised that there aren’t as many great tool deals as we would have hoped for these days, but there are still quite a few worth looking into.
First up, PB Swiss’s Tool Set for Him is currently $64, which is almost 10% less than it’s typical price. The price may seem a bit high, but it is more than justified by PB Swiss’s typical quality.

Woodcraft is still holding its $10 off $20 coupon promotion, and is shipping all orders for free! Typical exclusions apply – you won’t be getting 800 lb machinery shipped for free, of course.
A few of the better Woodcraft deals worth mentioning:
10pc Bessey Clamp Set – $30 ($20 after coupon)
7-piece Forstner Bit Set with Case – $12.49 (two sets for $15 after coupon)
Woodriver Mobile Base – $45 ($35 after coupon) (This closely resembles HTC ‘s PortaMate PM1000 that is priced at $50)
Craftsman 204pc Mechanics Tool Set (128 sockets) – 1/2-off at $100
Craftsman 118pc Mechanics Tool Set (72 sockets) – $70, today 12/9/09 only, limited to 400 units nationally
Bosch 12V Impactor – $130 (Not as good as the recent $100 deal)
Bosch 18V Drill & Impactor Combo – $220
Sears’ 20%-off Garage Storage is still ongoing as well.
MSC – 25% off 5 or more items thru Friday – Details

See what we mean? It’s a slow week for tool deals. Maybe things will pick up as we get deeper into the holiday shopping rush and retailers fight over last-minute shoppers. If you find another deal worth mentioning, be sure to share it with us!

“Tool Set For Him”, eh? Does that mean it will deliver an electric shock if someone like myself attempts to use it? Or maybe they have one “For Her” — in pink? Ick.
I’m half tempted to buy a few and hand them out to the crafty young girls I know… just to disrupt the order of things.

Stacy,
There are actually is a PB Swiss Tool Set for Her, and we mentioned it way back in our Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas post.
Stacy
Stuart, that is hilarious! Thanks for the link!
Looks like the sets are very similar, with the “Her” set having smaller sized drivers.

Glad to help (and amuse)!
One of the more significant differences between the two sets is that the “for Her” set has a soft-textured SwissGrip handle, while the “for Him” set has a hard plastic Mulitcraft handle.
If I were to give a “for Him” set as a gift, I would include an additional SwissGrip handle. The Multicraft handle is also available separately, but I wouldn’t include one with a gifted “for Her” set.
