Husky 60 Inch 10-Drawer Mobile Workbench

Home Depot and Husky have come out with what I can only describe as a MEGA mobile workbench. It’s got a 60-inch worktop, 10 drawers, and heavy duty construction all around.

I had an opportunity to check it out in person, and asked the brand manager to do a quick run-through of its main features. Please forgive the noisy audio:

You might have noticed that there are resemblances between Husky’s new mobile workbench and Milwaukee’s 60″ mobile tool cabinet workbench. But there are some very strong differences.

Husky 60-Inch Tool Storage Workbench

The wood worktop is 60″ long and 1.2″ thick.

Husky 60-Inch Tool Storage Workbench Table Depth

And… a whopping 24″ deep. Yes, you get a full 5-foot x 2-foot worktop!

Husky 60-Inch Tool Storage Workbench Table Depth Measurement

It’s not rounded up either, it measures a spot-on 24 inches.

Husky 60-Inch Tool Storage Workbench Full-Length Drawer

You also get a full-length drawer.

Husky 60-Inch Tool Storage Workbench Full-Length Drawer Length

It measures around 55-1/2″. And I didn’t notice any racking or weakness to the drawer either, it fell pretty sturdy.

The entire Husky workbench felt quite sturdy, and it should. With this and a new tool storage combo, Husky is aiming to appeal to heavier duty users and maybe even professionals.

The Home Depot description says that it’s built with 19 gauge steel.

Husky 60-Inch Tool Storage Workbench Drawer Depth

The drawers are plenty deep too – just under 22″! (21.85″ to be exact.)

Husky 60-Inch Tool Storage Workbench Power Strip

There’s a convenient power strip just under the side handle placement on the right side.

Home Depot’s product description mentions USB charging ports. Surely that’s wrong, right?

Husky 60 Inch 10-Drawer Mobile Workbench USB Power Strip

But looking at their product photos, yep! – the power strip has been updated to also include 2 USB charging ports. That’s a nice surprise.

Husky 60-Inch Tool Storage Workbench Locking Caster

And it’s also got the fantastic locking industrial-grade casters that Milwaukee has been featuring on their tool storage products. They lock and unlock easily.

Husky 60-Inch Tool Storage Workbench Cabinet with Shelf

On the left side there’s a locking cabinet with an adjustable shelf inside. You can remove the shelf and use that space for a 5-gallon bucket or other bulky stuff.

Husky 60-Inch Tool Storage Workbench Bottom Drawer Double Slides

You also get double sets of slides on the deepest drawers, for extra load capacity (200 lbs).

There are some other bells and whistles, such as corner protectors on the front edges. The main drawer, bottom section of drawers, and cabinet all lock independently.

The entire workbench has a matte black finish, with smooth handle pulls.

Price: $698

First Thoughts

I was very thoroughly impressed with what I saw. I don’t quite care for the look of the edge protectors, but this looked to be a pre-production unit. The photos on HD’s site makes this component look better. And even if they’re not very pretty, they’re still very functional. Plus they provide protection for the entire height of the front corners, and not just the bottoms.

Milwaukee 60 inch Mobile Workcenter with Pegboard

This new Husky mobile tool storage workbench is obviously made by the same OEM that makes Milwaukee’s.

Husky 60 Inch 10-Drawer Mobile Workbench

The Husky is the same length, but deeper by 2 full inches. The top drawer on the Husky is full-length, and the lower section has a different drawer configuration.

It’s hard to say which is “better,” they’re just different.

With the Milwaukee, you can use the pegboard, or lower it if it doesn’t suit you. You don’t have that option on the Husky, but you have that deeper workbench. And the slightly greater storage capacity all around thanks to the overall greater depth.

If you’ve been eyeing the Milwaukee mobile workbench, or are drooling over this Husky one, you’ve got some hard decisions ahead of you. Oh, and there’s that new Dewalt one, too.

I like the charger-hanging location on Milwaukee’s, although I haven’t used them, yet on my test sample unit. I think that if I had to absolutely choose between the two, I might find greater appeal and utility in the Husky’s deeper size and full-length top drawer.

lol! In the caster close-up photo you can see that the “N” in “ON” is printed backwards.

      Ha – I didn’t even notice that!

The production ones will likely look like the same as those on Milwaukee’s. Better photos here: https://14cyiuhvcgv.com/kicking-the-tires-of-milwaukees-ball-bearing-tool-storage-combo/%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E

Maybe someone at the factory decided to use the misprinted casters, since they can’t exactly put them onto production models. Or maybe it was completely accidental.

which is cheaper – the husky? I like the husky one better if it was available in a different color. but I can paint it.

I can retrofit that charger home also – so again I’d take the husky one.

I also think I’d take that over the dewalt one from yesterday.

    Same price as the Milwaukee.

I do love that it has the soft close drawers as well. I will pick one up when they are discounted more. I have a spot 64″ wide in my garage I have been eyeing the Milwaukee for. Now I have an alternative.

I wish the tops of these mobile work benches overhung the front a little so it could be use as an impromptu clamping surface.

I think they are two different work stations. I really liked the Milwaukee with the pegboard when it came out but I wanted a full length top drawer. Something like that would take place of my work bench inside my house in the laundry area since it wouldn’t move anywhere because of the concept of it you don’t want to be moving that thing anyway. The Husky one is pretty nice with the full drawer and work top and size etc…

I think if the Husky one had a peg board I would be all about it. If the Milwaukee one had a full length top drawer I would be all about it. If the husky had the peg board and the milwaukee had the full length top drawer at the same price offered at the same time I would have a really hard time deciding.

The more I look at the pictures – the more I think I like the milwaukee 2 drawer setup instead of the one long drawer of the husky.

I like what they are doing with these new boxes! I spent a lot more a few ears ago on a name brand box, namely because I wanted the drawer configuration. I’m glad I did, it’s served me well, however if I was buying today, I would take one of these and save a wad of cash! They may not be bombproof, but they should last a really long time!

I like them too, the drawer latches are nice and the fact that their boxes have stayed the same for a lot of years. In four or five years the current models of Milwaukee, Dewalt, Husky and others will be gone and maybe replaced with different models. Husky especially has changed their boxes many times in the last five years, even now there is two different models of the 41 inch cabinet/chest combo, only one has a deep enough socket drawer to store them standing upright. Special offers for a limited time only will make you sorry if it comes time make a warranty claim.

I agree. Very nicely done in the price range. Hopefully Menards doesn’t change up the production quality, ever. I dont own any but i have seen a half dozen wider roller cabs used in series for specialty tool storage in a hoppin shop. 100% useful and efficient. The lower line Performax boxes are even decent, with great drawer configs. As long as people have realistic expectations.

The blacked out look is pretty cool. Hard to believe they did that.

I am not sure what the appeal of the full length top drawer is. Typically I put my most often used stuff at the top where it is most accessible. That stuff is never so long as to require a full length drawer. As an electrician, I could use that drawer for conduit benders and long pipe wrenches, but I would prefer it on the bottom.

Also, I like a mobile workbench/box for shop use, but the five foot by two foot size must be awfully heavy when full of tools. That’s a lot of weigh to move around the shop.

Nice to see the construction quality of Husky is improving.

You did not mention the other new tool box coming out by husky. I just saw the 52 inch flat black upper and lower tool chest at my local Home Depot.

This also looks like a great tool storage solution priced at $698 with soft-close drawers and 120 pound weight capacity per drawer.

Would be nice to know the thickness or gauge of the metal used in these tool chests and compare them to snap on, Milwaukee, and others. The box store brands feel thin and wobbly when you open and close the drawers .also they should be all keyed alike ,what’s the big deal with that? I would like to see how the frame is constructed with a video from the manufacturer or Sales people .Thanks for reading this post
