Husky 18 Drawer Mobile Pro Organizer

Husky’s Mobile Pro Organizers are stackable and wall-mountable plastic drawer organizers that are quite reasonably priced at $15 each. These organizers feature large carry handles, lockable doors to keep drawers in place during transport, and durable plastic construction.

There are two models available – an 18-drawer unit with 12 small and 6 large drawers, and one with 3 removable divided organizers. According to Home Depot, both units are 16.2″ W x 10.2″ x 9.3″.

While we don’t normally associate Husky with top-notch storage products, we really like the 22″ single-latch plastic tool box we reviewed last winter, and they offer a cantilever organizer (similar to the Kreg Toolboxx) that we’ve been meaning to pick up.

Stanley’s 25-compartment organizer is still the top-dog portable parts organizer in our book, but we wouldn’t hesitate to give these Husky organizers a try given our recent experiences with them. There’s only one problem; at the moment the organizers are not in stock online or at our local Home Depot stores.

We just mounted some organizers in our shop for screws, nails, etc. I wish I’d have thought about something like this that could be a good mobile solution too.

Some of the contractors I talk to like really thin cases on the job site since they’re not as bulky.

Which brands/models did you equip your shop with? Thin cases are good, but multiple units often do become unwieldy. My current favorite are Keter-made cantilever boxes, but the Festool Sortainers I’m testing out are mighty fantastic.

it looks like the sides are removable or hinged somehow on these new boxes. any idea what thats all about? also, i think by now i feel so wishful of someday owning a whole set of systainers to house all my tools that every new toolbox that comes out just seems wasteful to me. i just can’t get over the fact that europeans get $80 stack-locking toolboxes with every tool they buy and we over here end up with a random mix of sizes, shapes, hard cases and soft cases which we get to jenga and tetris into and out of our shops and vehicles (I drive a Mini with the back seats removed).

I believe the hinged panels are doors that swing to the front to secure the drawers in place for transport. There’s also mention of a padlock loop.

Regarding the EU-trend of bundling tools in interlocking Systainers and L-Boxxes, we might never see the trend pick up here. Even so, brands are definitely going to give it a try. Bosch recently announced new L-Boxxes and a larger Click & Go system, and another brand is preparing to join the fray. More on that next month. =)

In EU, the stack-locking toolboxes are added to the price of the kits, so you’re not getting anything for free. What I’d like to see are two options – budget-friendly kits that come with inexpensive soft cases, and kits with interlocking boxes. Of course, that could also mean brand-impartial users will end up with 4 different non-compatible and expensive storage systems to sort through.

I haven’t seen these at HD yet, are they new? I really like the idea of the 18 drawer organizer, but only if things won’t come out of the drawers during travel. I have several larger stationary organizers like it, but of course those don’t have backs and large gaps between the drawers so they offer no portability. Older ones (especially with metal cabinets) did have backs but were still not great at keeping things inside the drawers if it was moved around.

Stuart, is the COD of this item PRC or these actually US made? Went to HD today and saw some Husky brand storage containers that are US made. Not sure if that is case. Home Depot CA doesn’t list this item, but something similar is made in Israel.

I have no idea. I came across them via the HD site and posted b/c they caught my interest.

Husky-branded Keter products, such as the wide tool box and cantilever organizer are made in Israel. After searching Keter’s sites I couldn’t find something similar, suggesting that another OEM makes these organizers.

I’ll hunt for more info, but probably won’t find anything unless/until these organizers hit the market.

These organizers are designed in Israel but they are manufactured in Indiana and they’ll be in your local Home Depot shortly. The organizer has swinging doors with a latch in the middle and a lock loop so you can take your droid organizer with you wherever you go and the drawers don’t fall out.

There are many innovative organization products out there designed and made in the USA that large chains may not carry.

Bought two of them a couple of years ago. Don’t remember where. They also mount on a wall using screw slots. Really like them and wanted to get more but can no longer find a source for them. The BHG website lists them as no longer available.

Does anyone know where these can be purchased? I sure could use some help in locating a reliable vendor.

I think they’ve been discontinued. Maybe the OEM (Keter?) still makes it.

This came out more than 12 years ago and was likely discontinued within a few months or year. Husky does that a lot.
