Today only, Amazon is having a sale on a bunch of different Ingersoll Rand tools. There are 5 different tools included – 3 kinds of air impact wrenches, an air hammer kit, and a cordless 1/2″ high torque impact wrench kit.
Looking at competitive pricing, the deals look to be very good.

If you’re wondering why there are 8 products shown when only 5 are eligible for the discount, it’s because 3 are advertisements. Because that totally makes sense, to promote a sale and then duplicate 60% of the sale listings.
And over at Home Depot, there are 13 different Wen power tools and accessories on sale as part of their deal of the day.
The on-sale items include a cordless drill, a band saw, combo belt and disc sander, scroll saw, air cleaner, oscillating sander, oscillating belt and spindle sander, benchtop lathe, equipment stand, heat gun, oscillating multi-tool, and an angle grinder.

I snagged the air cleaner for my everlasting battle against a messy shop!

Thank you for the heads-up. I just got the Wen band saw. I needed a smaller one like this, and this one had great reviews both on Amazon and Home Depot. From the reviews it looked like adjustment is somewhat of a challenge at first, but I’m willing to live with that.

My advice is to ramp up the learning curve so that you can apply the proper tension to the blade. Nothing is more frustrating IMO than trying to get a good cut with a bandsaw with too little tension on the blade.

Thanks, Fred!

I’d love to see (or do) an impact wrench comparison between the IR model and the Dewalt and Milwaukee of _______ brands to see how they stack up.
If it wasn’t for another battery platform I’m lusted after some of the IR cordless kit for a while – specifically their power ratchet. MAC one that I’m interested in is 12 volt and I think that is a waste.

I got into the IR line when it was one of the only on the market. I still think they are great tools today, and keep a set at work, having a set of Dewalt for the ‘lighter’ tasks.
Having a battery powered right angle impact has saved my butt a few times at work. Tried to find another manufacturer who offers one for another job, and came up empty.

The Wen Belt and 6-Inch Disc Sander picture you have here reminded me of the problem of finding a variable speed version anywhere. The sander pictured is made and copied by any number of 1000 manufacturers but I can’t seem to find one single one like that that has variable speed. Surely someone has made one and for sure the need is there. I’m about to just give up and try slapping a variable voltage device like this:

in front of the power supply and seeing if that works but haven’t seen if this would work or anyone else try.

I thought about going IR for a 1/2″ Cordless Impact Wrench, that is until Milwaukee released their new version the 2767. What a beast and it has every conceivable setting a Mechanic could need. Be careful to check and recheck settings, it’ll break a stud off pretty easy.
