Keter Portable Workbench

Over at Amazon, they have this Keter Jobmade portable workbench on sale for just under $60.

Its price has been jumping between $60 and $80 for a while, and so while this isn’t a big deal, it’s worth mentioning, also because this one is a relatively new model.

This model has smaller clamps, which Keter describes as toggle clamps, for securing workpieces, and it looks simpler than their previous bar clamp integrations.

The Keter Jobmade also has swivel feet for helping to stabilize the workbench on uneven ground, a removable organizer box for accessories, recesses in the top surface for holding small parts, and a carrying handle.

It weighs less than 30 pounds and can support loads of up to 1000 pounds. The legs are made of aluminum, and the heavy duty resin top measures around 35″ x 22″, based on the “folded” dimensions.

This looks to be a compact and simple folding worktable with reasonable specs. $60 shipped seems fair.

The new Jobmade looks a lot like the Husky portable workbench – reviewed here. The Husky had a 1500 lb load rating and was priced at $80. It didn’t come with any clamps.

The Husky was a very stable and highly portable work table, and I miss giving it away.

I have been using a Dewalt folding work table that I purchased for $69, and while it’s very quick to set up, it can be a pain to use with clamps.

If I had to buy a portable workbench right now, the Keter is very appealing at $60 with free shipping.

It’s super solid, lightweight and sets up in a minute. Legs screw in with about 1 1/2 turns.

Beware though – the red plastic clips that hold the legs in storage WILL break… and Keter will tell you your s*#* out of luck.

Keep your receipt and do your own warranty exchange when that happens.

This looks like the near exact husky work bench and i LOVE IT. You do have to get special clamps in order to use the clamps in the rails. The dewalt table is nice a well but it’s a little shakey. Definitely not as stable as the husky(keter) table.
The dewalt one is nice, the dewalt trigger clamps with the removable end work well with it. BUT you have to use two hands and bend over to get the clamp on the table and you might have to use two hands to get the clamp tight on the work area because nothing keeps the clamps up. BUT you can use a stronger clamps and in more areas than the husky(keter) table.
All in all I like this table more than the dewalt table mainly because i don’t have to fold it up all the time. If i needed a quick table that folded up all the time i’d definitely use the dewalt.

I’ve got a couple of their other style portable work tables that I really like. This looks like it’d be better for if I jut need a regular table as apposed to a work bench.

These Keter workbenches are awesome. I own 3 (two different models). You can usually find them at Sams Club or Costco around the holidays. After the holidays, Sams Club usually has them marked down to about $40. I like the models that have the fold up legs a bit more than the pic above. Use your thumbs to release the locks on top of the bench….give it a shake….instant bench! Great product.

It’s hard to tell from the photos, is the center designed to undermount a router? I came across different Keter that has that option but it’s unavailable. Also, Walmart has a folding Hart bench for $65 that looks to be made by Keter.

Fusionman, albeit I don’t have THIS table, I can tell you that I’ve done the same as Joatman buying one at Sam’s Club for $60.00 and then buying another for $40.00 in the New Year. What I CAN say is that the Keter Folding Work Table EX has the same illusion of the circle on top possibly becoming a port for a router, but it does not. So I doubt the red one does, either. But IF you have Sam’s Club nearby, those EX tables are there almost year round for the $60 (minus the almost month after the holidays when they drop). The EX has green accents compared to the red, comes with two bar clamps that disappear into the table when not in use and the legs extend about 12-18 inches.

There appear to be two versions. This one, which I can’t find on any Keter website and holds 1000lbs and has no router plate, and another which is on the Canadian and European Keter sites. That one holds 1500 lbs and has a router plate.

I also have the older Husky version of this table and it is an excellent value. I have used it for everything from working on heavy equipment to putting drinks on a party. It has been super handy to say the least.

How do these compare to the old Workmate-style work tables?
