Klein Tools 2022 Holiday Deal Bundle: Screwdrivers and Mini Ratchet

Klein Tools 2022 Holiday Bundle Deal

For the past couple of years, Klein Tools has been offering special bundle deals at Home Depot for the holidays.

This year’s Klein special buy is a 3pc multi-bit screwdriver and mini ratchet set.

Klein Tools 2022 Holiday Bundle Tool Deal Contents

The bundle comes with Klein’s 1/4″ drive electrician’s mini ratchet, with 72T gearing, low-profile head, and looped handle, a 4-in-1 multi-bit electronics screwdriver, and an 8-in-1 adjustable length multi-bit stubby screwdriver.

Note: Lord Byron mentions in comments that you don’t get the 5pc bit set that typically comes with the mini ratchet; Home Depot’s product image (included above) seems to be in error.

Is this a good buy? Let’s break down what you get.

  • Mini ratchet set (65200) – $15 at Amazon | $16 at Home Depot
  • Electronics screwdriver (32581) – $11 at Amazon | $11 at Home Depot
  • Stubby multi-bit screwdriver (32308) – $16 at Amazon | $15 at Home Depot

The Klein Tools bundle set is $24.88 at Home Depot, in-store and online with free shipping.

Klein’s estimation of a $39.91 value actually looks to be an understatement – the lowest I can find all three tools for is a combined $41.

Is this a good buy for you? Well, can you use any 2 of the 3 components? Then yes, you’re getting your money’s worth and more.

Should you buy it? That’s a tough one. I’m giving myself to the end of the week to convince myself why I don’t need this in my tool kit. I really like Klein’s electronic screwdrivers, but the stubby adjustable length driver and mini bit ratchet are new to me.

Even though Klein is focused on electrical tools, this looks to be a decent general purpose screwdriver tool kit.

Price: $24.88

I have 3 of the Klein “adjustable length shaft” screwdrivers – the one in this set (32308) plus their #32303 and #32304. I have the #32303 in the garage – and find myself grabbing it a lot. Some time ago, I tried the Irwin 1948779 – with adjustable length – but found it clunky and gave it away. I like the Klein design much better.

These are cool, I didn’t know they existed. Kind of reminds me of snapon’s indexing-head ratchets

that mini ratchet has always popped up for me as a look, I have thought of getting it a few times. BUT I pass every time. Just like I get that gearwrench thing popping up often and I also pass every time.

I really don’t need the other pieces though I would probably use that electronics driver if it was non-magnetic. I’ll give it a look, thanks for the heads up

There are lots of mini ratcheting bit drivers to choose from. I like the one from Wera – but it costs more than this entire set:

In the less expensive category is one made by Engineer:

      https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B4TECTQ/

Vim makes some really short ones (#DD3 and DD4) and their HBR4 HBR5 and HBR6 that also combine square drives. EZ-Red sell ones of different lengths – some with flex heads.

Not sure what I did wrong with those Amazon dead-end links – but here’s my favorite Wera bit ratchet (more expensive) at KC Tool

Proper format: http://amazon.com/dp/ASIN. Yours left out the dp – I added them in.

Please don’t worry about trimming links – it’s part of my job description. =)

The Wera is great, as are others, but we’re talking about a $42 tool vs. a 3pc tool set for $25 including screwdriver bits.

My Wera was maybe my m3rd or 4th bit ratchet. Before that, I started with a Gearwrench (still on sale at Amazon!) and basic Craftsman designs.

Thanks for making the corrections. I knew about the DP – thought I included it. Mea Culpa.

Anyway – as I noted: ” I like the one from Wera – but it costs more than this entire set”. Also, as L notes – the ring loop on the much less expensive Klein – may save it being dropped into an awkward spot for retrieval. Sounds like it might be good to have both.

I just purchased two of these from HomeDepot and neither set contained the bit set with the hex to square adapter. I wouldn’t care about any of the other bits, but I had to purchase Wiha hex to square from Amazon at $7 a piece.

The links work fine for me!
I have a similar tool from Snap-On, it is a lot like that Engineer but it has a 1/4 socket on one end and a 5/16″ on the other and it does not have the plastic finger ring. It came with a set of extra-stubby bits, some are 1/4″ hex and the others fit the 5/16″. The bits use O-rings to retain them in the ratchet. It is very thin but its downside is that it’s an older design ratchet with not all that many teeth so it takes a pretty good swing arc to use it.

I like the ring on the klien. but I also look hard and will most likely buy the EZ red.

That little mini bit ratchet is one of my most used tools when doing appliance repairs, it fits almost anywhere you need with ease and the ring loop has kept it from being dropped down in an appliance many a time.

I actually like to keep a stubby 1/4 nut driver in it so you have a little stand off and don’t bang your knuckles on anything in tight spaces.

I love the Mini Ratchet, so I grabbed two of these sets when I saw them online, but be warned.
All of the photos online (including the one you use) show the Mini Ratchet with it’s five piece bit collection (two flat, two Philips and a 1/4″ socket adaptor).
It does NOT come with these.
You are expected to use the bits in the stubby screwdriver.

I actually just bought this set. It’s really nice but with an issue. The precision screwdriver only comes with Phillips and flat bits, two different sizes, so if you need more you have to buy them separately at about $5 – $10 each, I couldn’t find any multi packs. Oh, and the flats are stupid sharp.

Bought one. Free shipping. Not a bad deal.

I have plenty of screwdrivers (many Wera), but like clamps for woodworkers, having a few too many screwdrivers is never a problem.

Not Klein – but DRPD says that they have a “blemish” sale going on for a PBSwiss
PB 6510.R-100 – ratcheting multibit screwdriver. At $58.11 it seems like a good price:

I just had the shop buy me this set. I do commercial HVAC and have carried a stubby 6 in 1 and this same tstat screwdriver in my pocket for years. My personal bag at home has the ratchet tool for when I do family furnace stuff.
It’s tempting to buy a stack of these to give as the no thought Christmas present this year.
