Comment on the Kobalt Double Drive Screwdriver–The end of the extension is not magnetic, so if turned upside down the screwdriver bit will fall out–not good when you are attempting to get into a hard to reach area–very bad design. I find the overall quality a little to be desired.

Aren’t there ways to make things magnetic? Not sure, I just remember my husband and son talking about it one day.

My son purchased a Double Drive for Xmas from Lowes without the Pouch….
I would like to purchase a Pouch or receive one as I already have the set.
I have contacted two locations of Lowes and have found them wanting…….they were no help at all…………Kobalt should look for another outlet for their products. I would suggest Home Depot as I will be shopping there in the future.I am retired but I spent 20 yrs in Sales & Marketing and Lowes need help.
The Lowes Website will not let me ask questions .

I have been trying to get a double driver since they came out and everywhere was always out of stock. Now I’m being told that they are no longer available. Does anyone know when and if they will be available again?

If I had to guess, I would think that they might pop up again a couple of weeks ahead of Father’s Day.

they don’t work as advertised. i am on my replacement drive and it doesn’t work. the ability to ratchet in either direction and get the unit to turn in the direction selected does not work on this one. the first was a christmas present, but only worked one time, and that was when i was playing with. when i went to use it to rachet a series of screws in some wood the ratcheting function stopped working. lowes says they don’t know when or how many they MAY receive. this just plain sucks. and when i did a search on the web to try and write [email] to the parent company, i couldn’t find either any telephone numbers or web site address to find anything. kept getting directed to the lowes site only. so now i am using it as a plain ordinary racheting device. really what i wanted it for. so, so far the products does not do what is supposed to do, other than the help i got from lowes [ and they are doing a good job is working with there customer in solving things, so i only have praise for them] but not having the abilit to go to the source really sucks. so, if you are looking test it out where u want to buy it and give it a workout and hope that it does what u want it to do “forever” basically, 2 drives, both have same problems and outlook of getting it replaced [supposed to have a lifetime warranty] is next to nil and have no options to do so except staying in contact with lowes.

so TEST in out heavily and forcefullly and take no prisoners.

Roger, you must be doing something wrong or have just a string of bad luck. The one I got my husband works great! Exactly as advertised. Matter of fact, i’m guilty of stealing it a lot of the time. Looks like it’s time to invest in another one around this house.

Actually, the screwdriver has been out of stock for some time. If carried again in the future, I would expect it to reappear ahead of Father’s Day.

I’ve had mine for some time now, they are way too heavy. Got it for Christmas. I used the tips in my old driver, they didn’t last long. I use the nut driver tips now, they seem to be lasting.

Hope you have a better experience.
