Let’s talk about Labor Day tool deals for 2024, starting with Home Depot.
Home Depot’s top deals – as in the deals featured and emphasized at the very top of their Labor Day 2024 discounts landing page – focuses on Milwaukee:
- Free Milwaukee M18 2Ah battery with select purchases
- Up to $155 of select Milwaukee power tool kits
- Up to $120 off select Milwaukee nailers
- Up to $65 off select Milwaukee power tool accessories
There are many other tool deals, you can browse through the list at the following link.

I should caution – some of the prices look to have jumped up from where they were. Not all of the deals are the best bargain right now.

Lowe’s has a Labor Day doorbusters sales event, and although there are very few tool-related deals, some seem decent.
For example, they have the Klein Tools ModBox rolling tool box for $140, and My Lowe’s rewards members get an $40 off.
I find members-only restrictions to be extremely off-putting, but at least MyLowe’s membership is free.
Lowe’s also has a “Fall Savings” event, with quite a few tool-related SKUs. Some of the deals are interesting, especially the Dewalt 12V Max Xtreme kits and combos with a free battery.
Their deals seem very weak overall, but could be worth a quick look. Maybe you’ll find something that I missed.

Here are more promos that are happening right now for Labor Day 2024:
Acme Tools – 20% off personal protective gear, Dewalt “buy more, save more” sale, free battery with select Milwaukee M12 tools.
Ohio Power Tool – discounts and freebie promos featuring Milwaukee, Bosch, Flex, Dewalt.
Tool Nut – Festool Domino value kit, Milwaukee free bonus offers, Dewalt free bonus offers, Makita buy more save more, Makita select free tool offers, Tanos Systainers Gen3 savings.
KC Tool – Deal of the day on NWS 5.25″ adjustable pliers.

Amazon has some tool deals, but it’s all jumbled up.
They have a Dewalt table saw with rolling stand priced at $549, and a quick search shows that it’s on sale for the same price everywhere else.
There are some brand-name bargains mixed into a sea of no-name tools.
Amazon has a limited time deal on a lot of tools, such as SOG’s ParaShears multi-tool, but there’s no mistaking this much-hyped sales event for a Prime Day or Black Friday-like promo.

Harbor Freight’s 4-day sale is ending today. Everyone gets 10% off any single item, and Inside Track Club paid subscribers get 20% off any single item, in-store only.

Not so many emails this year for Labor Day Sales.
The only one that I noted was from Seneca Woodworking – for 15% off in-stock most Seneca-brand items and 50% off 3D-printed items – using code LABORDAY2024

Is that a semi-normal deal? My tool budget is completely shot at the moment.
fred
No – I’m used to seeing 5% or maybe 10% off. I don’t recall any that approached 50% off on their 3D printed items – which may not be selling well.
Derek
Thanks for the insight!

$99 for the Toro 60v string trimmer with battery, and $99 for the Kobalt 40v blower with battery are great deals from Lowe’s. I got the blower kit to get another 4ah battery.
TomD
HD had a Toro double stage snow blower for less than a grand, that was a smoking deal.

Your right, not many Labor Day sales.
One of the better ones (I think?), is the email I got, which Stuart also mentioned last week, from Leatherman for a free FREE T2.
I think it is a good sale because I do not see many Leatherman sales, even less by retailers.

Metabo HPT 18V MultiVolt Brushless 16 Gauge Straight Finish Nailer (NT1865DMSQ7M) for $206.61 on Amazon.com. By itself the price is quite low, but then you might be able to apply a 15% coupon, bringing it down to just $175.61.

I was hoping to grab a 12.0 forge battery for a percent-off discount, but probably would be excluded anyway since it’s so new. Maybe Black Friday.
Stuart
The brand new battery that just started shipping?
Black Friday? It remains to be seen whether the new battery will be eligible or excluded from any retailers’ percent-off or “buy more save more” dollar off deals.
Last year there weren’t any notable discounts on the Forge 6Ah.
Doug N
So you’re telling me there’s a chance…
TomD
Hopefully Home Depot does something but it’ll probably be a combo deal if anything.
Stack that with a 10% credit card coupon and you’re probably as good as you’ll get this year.

I’ve had the best luck with this using Northern Tool and Ace Hardware. They seem fewer and fewer now but Northern will have broad application discount codes and they have always let me apply them to batteries, and free shipping to boot. At Ace the prices are usually better and sometimes great with various Ace Rewards discounts, sporadically (have to sign up, it’s benign). And there are some sellers on Amazon that have legit batteries at excellent prices too…whether or not they get the newest releases soon will just depend, but they had the 5.0 and 2.5 pretty quick. Thus far in my cordless career I have only paid full retail for two battery packs and the last time was about 7 years ago. Grab ’em when ya see ’em.
Stuart
There’s always a chance.
If you’re spending full price, and you don’t need it immediately, wait and see?

The 12.0 Forge is replacing the existing 12.0 HO, so some HDs have been honoring the $199 HO price on the new Forge, since the SKUs were the same or something. For a while you could even get a “free” 5.0 XC with it.

Amazon had a sale on Sata hand tools.Sata is made by Apex and sold through Amazon. They had a 3 piece set of 72 tooth ratchets for around $20.00.Plus they had a comfort grip handle set of 3 for about $1 dollar more.Super deal.I bought a few sets just to piss off the Snap-On fanboys. And they will serve me well with their hassle free lifetime warranty.
