A number of readers emailed in, asking for help finding Milwaukee M12 heated gear in their desired style and size in stock. Unfortunately, I haven’t been very successful in this.
Here’s the bad news – it doesn’t look like stock is going to be replenished. Retailers are reporting that SKUs are “seasonally out of stock,” “temporarily unavailable,” and backordered (but not available for purchase).

Milwaukee says that their heated gear selling season starts in August and ends in March, and it looks like a lot of SKUs are completely sold out already, except for maybe some of the less popular sizes.
Ohio Power Tool has very limited stock left. For instance, the M12 heated toughshell jacket kit in red is only available in large. The toughshell jacket-only in black is available in XL. The camo jacket-only is available in small. The Axis vest kit is only available in small. Good news – the M12 heated Axis jacket-only in black is still available in several sizes. The Axis jacket kit is available in small, medium, and 3XL.
Tool Nut has the gray hoodie kit in stock in small and medium, the heated toughshell jacket-only in red and XL, and the Axis vest-only in black in large. There might be some others.
Acme Tools has some M12 heated gear still in stock, and it looks like there are some SKUs of other products as well. For instance, there’s the Axis jacket kit in medium, Axis jacket-only in large, Axis jacket kit in large. See more heated jacket stock here. With that last link, if you see a price, it’s in stock, if you see “click for details,” it’s not.

It’s a slim chance, but your local Milwaukee tool dealer *might* have some items on the sales floor.

I bought one from home depot. I got a new m12 2.0 battery and the hoodie for 104.00 after taxes. I had to return it because it just didn’t work for me. I purchased a smaller size then I usually wear but I still couldn’t feel any heat. I guess I’m to tall and skinny and if I went any smaller on the hoodie my sleeves would be to short.

I bought both the Toughshell and the hoodie at Home Depot a few days ago. The store I bought the Toughshell at only had one XL left, the store I bought the hoodie at had a few hoodies and Toughshells left in L and XL, though the hoodie was only available in gray. I can feel a bit of heat in the large, but might be better served for now with a medium. Layering the two, however, is perfect with just the hoodie turned on.

This might be my baby biggest gripe with Milwaukee. They are horrible with ordering sizes, EVERY year. They always have XXL+ or S left. It hasn’t even got cold yet. I would think they would want stock so when all the people see others with their Xmas gifts, they might have an opportunity to purchase one, even without a bonus battery or such.
Some HDs didn’t even get them this year. Then others had either sweatshirts or the jacket, but not both. Of course this was only 1 city with 4 HDs.
It also makes it super difficult exchanging for the correct size after gifting one, or not possible at all. Then the only time to fix is the next season. Hope I guessed right for my sister!

Was hoping to get the Vest in XL, but could not find a dealer.. Tried ordering from Zoro because they offered a $15 off coupon for milwaukee but they emailed back cancelling order due to no more stock for the season…

I dunno if most users would agree with your statement. There are plenty of circumstances where heated work gear is actually safer to work in. If your hauling heavy loads off a truck then you probably won’t need anything more than a light regular jacket. But if your job is a surveyor you could probably just wear a big bulky jacket.
If your job is however, a lot of small tasks in restricted spaces, up on a ladder, or up on a roof- less bulk is better!!!
The great part of heated jackets is that it doesn’t require you to take it off as you start moving- you just turn it off!

I was stopped for road construction one day and chatting with the flagman. He was telling me that his heated jacket makes the job tolerable. Standing for hours and not being able walk for even a few minutes to warm up really sucks. Yeah, he wouldn’t do the job without one.

I bought a first gen jacket when they offered it in hi-vis and didn’t love it, working in central Canada in the winter it would get to minus 30 Celsius and I would wear a hoodie underneath the jacket which would negate most of the heating properties. The second season they came out with the heated hoodies, now I could have the heat close to my body with a jacket over top of it and it worked so much better. Locally around here they are pretty much sold out other than a handful of smalls at my local tool stores.

My buddy is pissed, he just used his old heated vest for the first time and the wire is broken. Looking to buy a new one but sold out everywhere in his size. Yeah they are horrible at maintaining stock in the sizes.

Bought a axis heated vest from toolnut in November. Right out the box it would not power up with a fully charged battery, the supplied battery holder, my usb power source and other battery holder (all of which work perfectly on my 2017 M12 vest).
Returned, but by time they received it, they were out of stock and i was issued a refund.
Everywhere else sold out.
Guess I’ll wait til the off season to find one new or used.
The axis looked awesome and was comfortable.
