Leatherman Wingman and Micra 2-Pack Combo

One of TrueValue’s 2012 Black Friday deals came a little early this year. Right now, and presumably through the holiday, True Value is selling the Leatherman Wingman and Micra multi-tool combo set for $25.

I purchased a couple of Leatherman Wingmans a year ago when they went on sale for $25, and they’ve held up well. Here’s my review comparing the Wingman to the Sidekick. Although the Sidekick is pegged as a slightly more premium entry-level tool, I found that I favor the Wingman a bit more due to its package-opener tool.

Price Comparison:

Wingman via Amazon ($25-28)
Micra via Amazon ($21+)

Wingman & Style CS Combo via Home Depot ($30)

i bought the micra when it first came out and it has served me well over the years in my key chain. bur it has seen it’s days…tool challenged people have asked to lend it and i have. it is missing some parts due to that… i also lost my very first leatherman when i left it in the paint room at work once. right now i am carrying a gerber multi tool but i may buy this one just to replace the micra and also, three is always better than one 🙂

For the money, it’s almost like getting the Wingman for free. It’s not exactly a high end tool, but that’s actually part of the appeal. For that price, you can take it places where you wouldn’t otherwise risk damage or theft of your higher end tools.

If you can use them at all, these kind of deals are no brainers.
