Milwaukee Tool NPS17 Teaser

As we prep for next week’s Milwaukee NPS18 media event, I realized that there were a few NPS17 videos that I hadn’t published yet.

Whoops!

I can be slow with things like this. But on the other hand, these and the other videos were by David and Benjamen. I don’t think I’ve uploaded ANY of my short video clips yet.

I’m thinking (hoping) that I’ll be quicker this year. It’s a lot harder than you might think, to turn one day full of tool info, photos, and video into neatly publishable content – even with the help of others.

We’ll be a little more structured this year. Maybe. In 2016, our NPS16 coverage spanned into August, and some readers complained about the “too much red” coverage when I powered through the final couple of posts. We were a little lighter on the coverage last year, but that was partly because of time constraints. The main reason was because everything we saw at NPS17 was scheduled to be released within the following 6 months.

Anyway, here are the newly published videos, with product managers briefly introducing some new tools. I have tested most of these tools since then, and can answer most questions you might have.

Someone over on reddit caught a picture of a M18 16” fuel chainsaw listing at the Home Depot pro desk. Maybe the chainsaw wisher’s dreams will come true at NPS18…

I saw that image, and it does look like a chain saw will be announced next week.

The right question to ask is this: what other new lawn and garden tools are they coming out with?

      I’d say maybe a mower.

A mower would be awesome, and keep them competitive with Dewalt’s OPE.

Maybe an edger… Or an expandable power head system like others seem to be going to… Although things like a cultivator or pole saw are more specialty and kinda gimmicky sometimes (so they fit well in Ryobi’s department), I use the little cultivator a lot for flower beds, keeping them loose. A m18 version with more power and longevity would be awesome.

A cordless pressure washer would be neat especially if they could to best the few “off-brand” 1000-2000psi ones that are on the market.

Yes! I really don’t want to get the worx one, but the ability to draft even if the pressure isn’t crazy is super helpful. My apartment won’t let us use a hose to wash cars, but sometimes I need a little more than the waterless wash spray stuff, usually use a pesticide sprayer that I modified. There are those 12V car wash systems I guess, but a cordless Milwaukee pressure washer would be fantastic!

A power head with different attachments would be awesome.

An edger is also known as a good string trimmer on its side. I think edgers are the most unnecessary outdoor tool, at least from the virwpoint that a trimmer can handle it. If you don’t have a trimmer, you definitely don’t need an edger.

Pole pruner is much more useful in my opinion. Use our Ryobi one a fair bit, but probably not enough to upgrade unless the price was right.

I’ve been waiting for this to happen. I’d like to see this image but I’m unable to find it. A little help would be appreciated. Thanks.

It’s just an image of an inventory system with text-only title of M18 Fuel chainsaw (or something like that), with price ($299?) and “out of stock.”

biggest reason I chose Echo Cordless over the Dewalt for my string trimmer – the ability to use other Echo PAS attachments. Like the edger – first thing I bought for it.

I would expect milwaukee to put out a mower also would be interesting to see what it’s similar too?

If they go 16 inch with a single 18v battery that chainsaw won’t have enough power, just like their 10 inch miter saw, they don’t learn from their past mistakes
