Lowe’s Flex StackPack and Klein ModBox Tool Box Deals

Flex Stack Pack Tool Box Deal at Lowes

Lowe’s has an exclusive deal on Flex StackPack that saves you a few dollars, but I don’t know how to feel about the price hike they attached to it.

Buy the Flex rolling drawer tool box, which launched last year (see Flex StackPack has a New Rolling Drawer Tool Box), and you get a free medium tool box.

Lowe’s has the Flex rolling tool box priced at $249. Acme Tools and Ohio Power Tool both have for $199.

So yeah, while you get a free medium tool box that’s selling separately for $89, you’re paying $50 extra.

Overall, you’re still saving $39 on the tool box bundle IF you were going to buy the medium tool box anyway.

It’s not uncommon for tool brands to inflate the price of “buy this, get something for free” sales and promotions, but they don’t typically do it like this.

Frankly, I wouldn’t buy into Flex StackPack today. They have barely expanded the system in the past year, and they had diminished presence at all of the Lowe’s stores near me. I’m not sure what the future holds for them or the tool box line.

But, if you already bought into Flex StackPack, this could be a good deal for you. As mentioned, you save $39 on the tool box bundle. Or wait for a promotion that takes a discount off the rolling tool box at its regular price.

It looks like this sale is exclusive to Lowe’s, and they say it’ll end on 4/20/25. Lowe’s has ended Flex promos prematurely in the past, but you should have some time to think this one over.

Klein MoxBox Rolling Drawer Tool Box 54801MB

Lowe’s also has a deal on the Klein Tools 2-drawer rolling tool box, model 54801MB, that apparently launched some time over the holiday season.

Klein MoxBox Rolling Drawer Tool Box Deal at Lowes -012025

It looks to sold exclusively at Lowe’s, and it’s priced at $140 with “save $60” marketing claim next to the strikethrough price of $200.

$140 for a 2-drawer rolling tool box is much better than $249, and you can opt for additional tool boxes or add-ons of your choosing. There’s no listed end date.

Klein is at the receiving end of a patent infringement lawsuit for their ModBox tool box design, and so I’m not 100% confident about buying into that line right now either. Still, I like the design a lot better than Flex’s.

Is Lowe’s hedging inventory due to the multiple modular toolbox lawsuits?

      I don’t think it’s related.

One of the things I dislike most about my Packout Rolling Toolbox is having to take everything off the stack to get in the bottom case. There is an upcoming Packout Rolling Drawer that has a single gigantic drawer but it rides on wheels instead of rails. I really liked the design of the Klein Rolling Drawers (with two drawers) and so I was going to design a 3D printed adapter. Between finding out one is already out there for free and with the sale, I just pulled the trigger.

In my perfect world I will make a 3d printed insert for my M18 track saw and some accessories for the bottom drawer and put the M18 Sawzall in the upper drawer (diagonally). If they both fit, It will make a perfect base with a couple of Packout Drawers on top.

Apparently, the Modbox link is no longer working and the box seems to be back up to a straight $200.

It says full price $200 for me as well. Might be location dependent? This happened in the past for me with a Lowes item.

Add to cart. Listing shows $199 but once added to cart it drops to $139.

Edit: It is location dependent, the reason the price changed when I added to my cart is because my selected store is out of stock (and priced at $199), but when added to my cart it makes that item a pick up at a different store where it is priced at $139. If I selevt that store outright it shows the $139 price on the listing as well. Sorry for the confusion.

It’s probably location dependent. I just checked and it shows $140 for me.

I mentioned this a few weeks ago, but I was surprised to see my local Lowe’s has had much more StackTech on display recently than they ever have had in the past. Now granted that’s only one data point, but it is interesting. Currently, StackTech and Modbox are easily the two most prominently marketed brands of tool storage in my Lowe’s store. I haven’t gone looking for either one but the displays are impossible to miss.

i’d be curious to hear how different stores market to the area’s they’re in.

i walked through my local store today to kill some extra time and look for the new klein markers. i never found them.

toughbuilt had 3 FULL shelves of items in the tool storage area. modbox didn’t exist anywhere save for two random rolling base units that looked to have been forgotten about in the electrical aisle. flex was just flex. they had the same dedicated display area, and tools were just as available as before christmas, with no prominence for any specific part.

overall, my store doubled down on dewalt everything, with dewalt taking up a major part of the tool area, and then splitting the end caps 50/50 with kobalt items the entire length of the store. klein was shuffled into appropriate categories, but no longer had any prominence on any item, only getting a special section in electrical, which i thought was interesting given the explosive nature of the companies partnership, and kleins recent product diversification.

I was at our lowes last evening . The tag showed 139.99 till February 20th . Have been eyeing mod box as personally like that one best. At this stage of my life (again just personal summaries) it’s a nicety not a necessity . So🤷‍♀️👍.

The flex stack rolling box was 110 between black Friday and Christmas Day. My Lowe’s had three on black Friday and three last weekend.
