My local Lowe’s store put out a new Klein electrical tool kit as part of their Black Friday and Holiday tool deals gift center.
There are a bunch of Klein Tools deals right now, and I almost tripped right over this one.

This deal gives you diagonal cutters, lineman’s pliers, and a premium wire stripper, for $49.98.

Here’s a breakdown of how much it would cost to buy all 3 tools separately from Lowe’s:
Klein Diagonal Cutters (D2288) – $30
The 8-inch diagonal cutter features a high-leverage design, short jaws, induction-hardened cutting surfaces for longer life, dipped handles.

Klein Lineman’s Pliers (D2139NE) – $35
The 9-inch New England-style lineman pliers features a side-cutter, cross-hatched jaws, hot-riveted pivot for smooth no-wobble action, and dipped handles.

Klein Wire Stripper (K11095) – $21
The wire stripper features Klein-Kurve handles with molded handle grips, narrower head for fitting in smaller spaces, 8-18 AWG (solid) and 10-20 AWG (stranded) capacity, 6-32 and 8-32 machine screw shear holes, dual wire looping holes, and spring-action self-opening with lock.

Thus, you get around $86 in Klein USA-made hand tools for $50.
Should you buy it?
The way this pliers and wire stripper set pricing works out, it’s a good deal if you can use at least 2 of the 3 tools.
I’ve purchased Klein electrical tool kit deal bundles before, and they’ve always been great values.
If you’re looking for a different selection of tools, shop around, although I haven’t found a better value than the 3pc set at the moment.

This 5pc pliers set at Home Depot seems like a good buy, at $99. By my math – you should double-check it – the value if you buy everything separately is around $150.
Amazon also has a 3pc set with Lineman’s pliers, diagonal cutter, and long nose pliers, for $70.

That link to the 3-piece set (pliers, dikes and long nose) shows three choices: 8 Inch Kit, 7 Inch and 8 Inch. The 8 Inch Kit has long nose and dikes as 8 inches and the line pliers are nines. The 7 & 8 Inch offers are both the 8 inch dikes. Goofy.
I don’t understand how things are so sloppy all the time.
Anyway, those long nose pliers (D203-8) are, to me, superb.

Many of Klien’s pliers are good. The diagonals and linesman pliers in that kit are among them. I’m less enthused for those stamped wire strippers.
Outdoors55 did a great video about that style that I found very informative. The channel is mostly about knives and sharpening, but he did a deep dive on strippers: https://youtu.be/5nJXMEFRbfE?si=Rzln6r1AYByfIg37

I have a garage sale set of the red handled dykes by Klein. Linesman I have are Kobalt. I do have some new Klein wire strippers I bought at either HD or Lowes but I actually prefer the Ideal brand strippers I know I bought at Lowes about 10 years ago. Decent set for a newb though.

About Klein products, their Knect kits appear to be compact and versatile. I searched toolguyd and didn’t see any articles about Knect system especially the small kits. Is this something I missed, a gimmicky product, or more info to come? Thanks
Stuart
I haven’t seen too much of it. The only communication I received was an “in case you missed it” link to a YouTube video about a year ago.
Just looks like a modular tool kit case, similar to what Dewalt has done in the past, coupled with adapters that lets you use impact tools with hand drivers.

They seem to be well put together kit in a small case that fits my grab and go toolbox for everyday things. It seems to have some unique abilities and features and expected toolguyd would have had an article about them so thought I would ask when I had the null search and seen this post for a Klein tool set
