Lowe’s has a Klein Tools Deal of the Day

Klein Tool Deal of the Day Hand Tool Starter Kit

Lowe’s decided to have their own Halloween tool deal of the day, featuring what I can only describe as a Klein Tool starter kit.

It comes with a lot of stuff – everything shown here, for $199.

Buy it at Lowe’s

This deal is actually for a “collection” of Klein tools. Lowe’s notes that everything must be purchased and returned together.

It looks like this is everything you get, along with how much it would cost to buy all of the tools from Lowe’s separately:

Klein Tools KNECT Pass Through 3/8″ (SAE) Impact Socket Set – $69.98
Klein 25′ Tape Measure – $19.98
Klein Folding Utility Knife with Screwdriver – $19.98
Klein Torpedo Level – $34.98

Klein 20-in-1 Multi-Bit Screwdriver and Nutdriver – $39.98
Klein SAE and Metric Folding Hex Key Set – $19.98
Klein Long Nose Locking Pliers – $13.98
Klein Extra Capacity 8″ Adjustable Wrench – $19.98

Klein 7″ Diagonal Cutting Pliers – $29.98
Klein 7″ Long Nose Pliers with Cutters – $24.98
Klein 7″ Adjustable Pliers – $25
Klein 9″ Lineman Pliers with New England Nose – $34.98

All of that comes out to… $353.78.

For once, a retailer’s claims are spot-on – with this deal of the day you save $154.78 on the Klein hand tools assortment.

Should you buy it? The assortment screams “apprentice starter kit” or “pro replacement and upgrade tool kit” to me. I bought some of these tools before, and would buy most of them without hesitation.

There are a few I could do without, such as the adjustable pliers. But given the amount of savings compared to regular pricing on the same selection of tools, it wouldn’t be too hard to look past that.

Whether you should buy it or not depends on whether there’s at least $200 in value for you.

I think this is a great buy, which is surprising for Lowe’s, and I hope they keep it up!

The deal ends at 3am EST 11/1/24 unless supplies sell out sooner.

What do electricians use pass-through sockets for? Are you hanging things from threaded-rod maybe?

I’m not an electrician. I was just wondering how often they’re used since obviously that’s one of the bigger values in this bundle.

Correct. I’m an electrician and I don’t use a pass through, but we build strut racks fairly frequently, and I wouldn’t fault one of us for owning a pass through

A buddy of mine has a similar set. It’s great at all thread.

But it also means it has a larger ratchet head, so it’s not a great set for almost any other typical socket/ratchet arrangement.

If you have a need, it’s well worth even snapon prices, but if standard deep well sockets work, it’s not really worth it, even heavily discounted in my opinion.

I tested it on multiple devices (Windows 11, iOS). What are you seeing, and do you have ad blockers?

    Stuart.
I just tapped your Lowe’s link and it worked perfectly. Price spot on etc.
I’m just annoyed that I’ve either got Klein’s already or better German or Japanese variants I prefer.
Oh well. Still a great package value!

      Thanks!

The only thing I can think of is they’re using an adblocker or using a browsing environment I can’t test in.

I use toolguyd.com/affiliate retailer/something links, partially to make it easier to create product links without having to deal with clunky affiliate back-end portals, but also because it allows me to switch things off if need-be.

For example: https://14cyiuhvcgv.com/sears/anything%3C/a%3E . That was the day I stopped linking to anything at Sears, and I was able to instantly un-endorse 9 years of links. It also comes in handy when retailers change their URL structure or affiliate service providers.

Anyway, if adblocker is too aggressively set, it could block such links.

I can provide troubleshooting if it’s a browser or device bug or issue, and have gone to reasonable lengths to help with ad blocker conflicts, but if a link is working perfectly for me, I need more info.

On that note, the individual Lowe’s links were a pain to put together. I don’t get how they’ll have a page-on-a-page for the “collections” but won’t link to the individual product pages so you can see reviews or individual item prices. I couldn’t even find the exact model numbers in the collection overlays. So much for Web 2.0 ease of use improvements.

This would make a very nice telecom kit. As an ex mountaintop radio guy I’m quite impressed with this selection.

I tried to order it, since the didn’t have it at my local Lowe’s.
Realized a week later they didn’t give me the discount, and customer service says they can’t find evidence of the sale.
Any chance you have any images or screenshots of the sale Toolguy?

      I’m sorry, I don’t.

These deals are online-only, and so your local Lowe’s store probably wouldn’t have been able to honor it unless you ordered for in-store pickup.
