Lowes ProExpress – a New Jobsite Delivery Service

Lowes ProExpress Delivery Service

Lowes has launched a new on-demand delivery service, called ProExpress, that brings parts and supplies straight to jobsites or wherever else they’re needed.

The ProExpress light truck service is a perk designed for professional users, with Lowes saying they’re more intended for things like emergency and last minute supplies.

The new service is currently available at more than 200 Lowes stores nationwide, but Lowes has not specified whether they will be expanding the scope of the program to include additional stores.

Since April, when the service first launched, deliveries to pro customers have included smoke alarms needed for a construction to pass inspection and shingles needed to complete a roofing job before big storm. Lowes has said that deliveries are also routinely made to businesses to restock cleaning and maintenance supplies.

Contractors and professionals make up a very small percentage of home improvement retail customers, but contribute a very large percentage of sales. Home Depot and Lowes have both ramped up their efforts to entice professional customers, and it looks like the new ProExpress on-demand delivery service could be a way for Lowes to appeal to loyal and non-committed customers alike.

Wondering what, if any, the charges are. Sometimes all I need is piece of hardware.

Here in VA Beach, we refer to Lowes as “Blowes”. In general, the layout of Lowes is far less intuitive than Home Depot. Although Lowes has a few departments with better selection, their pro-services desk is a joke and greatly understaffed even for the minimal business they do get. Lowes return desk is frequently staffed by cashiers who can’t count and like to burn through rolls of receipt paper by breaking open unopened boxes of things, scanning them individually, and requiring multiple transactions because they have exceeded 50 line items.

In short, I’d love to try this service, but also fully expect it to be poorly executed.

(Prove me wrong Lowes!!!, our company has spent 80k at Depot this year, tighten up!)
