I was going to ask you why the Makita 18v jig saw is never discounted and then I saw your article on the $25 off per $100 spent promo. I promptly ordered the XVJ037 from Amazon for $154. This is the best price I’ve ever seen on this item. Thanks Stuart!
It’s kind of strange that Amazon would end the promo so abruptly even though Makita says it is in effect till Dec. 31.
As a test I reran a new order for the jigsaw on Amazon just now and the $25 discount is NOT showing up! Very strange marketing.

I’m pretty sure Amazon pulled that promo due to the discount stacking. It’s not like in the past where $25 was the max. This time it was $25 for every $100 spent. Item going for $300 would get a $75 discount! Not sure if that’s going on everywhere else.

In all likelihood they temporarily suspended the promo until they fix it so it’s $25 off and not more. But, amazon has capped other promos and I’ve missed out because I was late to the party, so that is possible as well. It would be unexpected since the everyone else is running it.

Apparently there was some confusion on the promo rules. Yesterday Amazon was giving $25 discount gor every $100 spent qualified items. While other pages only gave $25 total discount for similar orders. I got track saw and guide rail from Amazon $100 off.
